Is it possible to install one of the temp speed signs on Renwick Blvd? Residents in the neighborhood routinely drive over 40 mph and there are many children and pedestrians on the road throughout day. Also, the speed limit sign before you reach East Moores on Renwick is blocked by a tree.
Westbound traffic on 2nd Street are trying to turn into the new Rockets Convenience Store. I've been in the left turn-lane for Patterson, and someone crossed the double-yellow line to make his own "turn lane" to go into Rockets. The way the entry is shaped there should be no left turn into the facility. Westbound traffic should turn on Patterson and access Rockets the back way. There have been other posts on social media about this. There needs to be a "No Left Turn" sign or something there - it's a prime spot for an accident.
Location 1008 E Thornton Dr.; Public safety/ traffic/ residential parking issue: Large amount of shoulder stone has eroded away due to to water run off from the street. Creating a large rut and beginning to undermine the edge of the steets pavement. (avg. 50'x1'x1') with the stone being washed towards Henderson St. then into the storm sewer system. This issue has been reported on multiple occasions over the last year by multiple residents.
New stop light at Rolling Ridge way had traffic on 2nd street backed up to The Eye Center at 5:10pm. Usually takes around 10 minutes for me to get home it was 20 due to the poor timing of the new light. There was a time around 5:20pm where the light was only green going down 2nd street for a minute before it turned red. Safety concern as well for ambulances trying to get down 2nd street (especially by the co-op where there is cement barriers in the middle of the road). Will be a huge concern when 37 (I-69) 2nd street ramps under construction in a few months.
Good Evening, Since the light at Ridgeway (I'm pretty sure that's the st, it's right in front of Twin Lakes Gym) and 2nd Street started working on Monday traffic in the morning, but especially in the evening, has been horrendous on 2nd St. It is now currently taking me about 40 minutes to get from the IU Campus to Eller Rd when leaving campus around 5:15. Traffic is bumper to bumper from 2nd and Rogers until after the new light. I feel like this is not just a ridiculous amount of traffic for a city the size of Bloomington, but that it is creating dangerous traffic situations. I'm afraid it's going to cause accidents. With students returning, I've noticed an uptick in traffic speeding down North Washington between 12th and 10th street. I feel like the problem is only going to increase as the new apartment building at 714 N Walnut is completed. With several children that play in the neighborhood, I'm concerned with their safety. Can traffic calming measures be investigated for this area?
There is a road construction sign sitting to the right of the exit from the plaza (3rd and college mall) between German American bank and HuHot Mongolian Restaurant. This sign is obstructing view when using this exit and is not safe for people pulling out onto busy 3rd street. Please move it.
I'm concerned that with the closure of Walnut St. Pike/Rhorer Rd., there will be a lot of traffic diverging through the Sherwood Oaks neighborhood, particularly on Allendale. We already have a lot of problems with individuals speeding down that street, and this will only make it worse. Is there any way that there can be the temporary speed bumps installed like there is through the Broadview & Summit areas right now? We would greatly appreciate it!!
Every day people use the right turn only lane to go straight through the light when another person is waiting to turn left. There have been many close calls between cars and cars and pedestrians. It would be more productive to change it to a left only lane and then a straight or right turn only lane.
There is a pole nut no crosswalk sign to warn speeding cars. This dog-leg is a heavily used walkway for the employees of Solution Tree that has to walk across the street to get to parking lot. I have almost been hit many times as well as my coworkers. Cars do not slow down and it is a BLIND bend.
