Is it possible to install one of the temp speed signs on Renwick Blvd? Residents in the neighborhood routinely drive over 40 mph and there are many children and pedestrians on the road throughout day. Also, the speed limit sign before you reach East Moores on Renwick is blocked by a tree.
Location 1008 E Thornton Dr.; Public safety/ traffic/ residential parking issue: Large amount of shoulder stone has eroded away due to to water run off from the street. Creating a large rut and beginning to undermine the edge of the steets pavement. (avg. 50'x1'x1') with the stone being washed towards Henderson St. then into the storm sewer system. This issue has been reported on multiple occasions over the last year by multiple residents.
Trying to travel anywhere on the South side is deplorable. Finish a project before you close down more roads. There is no one working on W Gordon Pike anymore and you started E Rhorer. Then you have Country Club shut down and just put up signs that Grimes is going to be closing soon. What the hell? This is a shit show. You are making it impossible to travel from East to West and causing MASSIVE traffic backups. Please finish Country Club or Gordon before you close down Grimes too. Did you even bother to stop and think these decisions through? If so I would like to know who in what world decided all these closures was a good idea, on top of Tapp being closed and 37 being worked on, let alone other projects in Bloomington.
There is an intersection on 3rd Street and South Park Ridge Road that is extremely dangerous. I had a friend get in an accident today making a left out of South Park Ridge Rd. onto 3rd street. Thankfully, no one was injured, however, both cars were totaled. This is the second person I know from my apartment complex that has gotten hit making that same left turn. I, myself, have almost gotten hit there. Upon speaking to the police officer at the scene today, I discovered that there have been numerous accidents at that intersection. There needs to be a traffic light there, or at least a blinking yellow since the speed limit raises to 40 a light before. I hope that other people have complained about this and that this complaint isn't taken lightly. The safety of the many students and permanent residents of Bloomington are more important than the flow of traffic.
I'm concerned that with the closure of Walnut St. Pike/Rhorer Rd., there will be a lot of traffic diverging through the Sherwood Oaks neighborhood, particularly on Allendale. We already have a lot of problems with individuals speeding down that street, and this will only make it worse. Is there any way that there can be the temporary speed bumps installed like there is through the Broadview & Summit areas right now? We would greatly appreciate it!!
Every day people use the right turn only lane to go straight through the light when another person is waiting to turn left. There have been many close calls between cars and cars and pedestrians. It would be more productive to change it to a left only lane and then a straight or right turn only lane.
Construction is ridiculous. You have every street tore up and the traffic lights are not letting traffic get through properly! Why not do one street at a time. Enough is enough! And stop bringing more people in!
On Vernal Pike heading east in to the City, there is a significant speed limit change once you reach Cresent Road. There is a reader board that alerts you to the speed limit change, but it is located essentially right at the zone change itself. This is setting up a dangerous situation, especially in regards to school bus traffic and children entering/exiting buses. Vehicles are going very fast and suddenly the speed limit changes very fast (from 40 mph to 20 mph). Can the reader board sign please be moved about 500' west (prior to entering bridge)? If not, can another warning sign or signal of some type be installed to give drivers an advanced warning of the speed limit change? This will really help with the safety of this situation. There is a pole nut no crosswalk sign to warn speeding cars. This dog-leg is a heavily used walkway for the employees of Solution Tree that has to walk across the street to get to parking lot. I have almost been hit many times as well as my coworkers. Cars do not slow down and it is a BLIND bend. Hello I am the office manager at Summit Urology located on McIntire Dr off of Tapp Rd and we have a few concerns 1 being that we have a Surgery Center down stairs and we are going to soon have only 1 way in or out of here. This is a concern due to if we ever need an ambulance to come to the surgery center in the event of an emergency and the road be blocked for some reason it could mean life or death for someone. Yesterday the road was blocked off for 38 min no one could get in or out of the medical park. I find this to not be a good result and need to speak to someone about our concerns.
