Please remove the confusing road closed and road closed ahead signage on Rogers street off of kinser pike, as the road is routinely open and causing traffic issues. All of this was supposed to be done prior to school beginning. When will the 17th street stuff with duke be finally completed? This town is causing construction fatigue as of late. Very worries about even more future re-routing and closures over long periods of time.
We just moved back to Bloomington after being overseas the past two years. In the two weeks here, at the traffic circle near our house there have now been three incidents where traffic just barrels into the circle at E. Rogers and S. Sare Rd. without caring about the traffic already in it. We have had to stop from being hit on two of these occasions, the other we observed. Is there any signage or other measure that can be done to make this intersection more safe? Thank you for any attention you can give to this.
Can’t see Graham Drive oncoming traffic when turning off Brown Avenue. Also Brown Avenue is a busy street because of school traffic turning onto Graham.
Multiple times I have witnessed near miss and possibly fatal accidents at the 2851 E Longview side parking on Pete Ellis. The angled parking is “back in only.” Traffic coming from the north on Pete Ellis doesn’t realize that people want to back-in. Traffic from the south who try to park have to make a 3 point turn. The road is too busy for this.
I appreciate that you are going to analyze this corner based on the potential Sudbury development. BUT, please change this intersection regardless of what happens with that development. It is already a dangerous intersection with the current traffic flow. There are near misses all day long. The accidents that happen are always bad, not just small fender benders. Allen is too steep. It makes visibility bad and makes it difficult to get traction up the hill and enter Bloomfield safely.
On going fiber install continues through lunch and doesnt stop by 5. Excess equipment noise and heavy equipment and truck movement.
There needs to be a roundabout or traffic light at Prow & Arlington, because it is a nearly daily issue, twice a day, because the intersection is an unprotected free-for-all PLUS inexperienced drivers.
Excessive speeding (meaning more than 5 mph over the posted speed limits) continues on 17th St. This includes very large trucks (semis, construction trucks, etc.) and even some MCCS busses. Some vehicles go way over the speed limit. Suggestions for improving this situation? Even adding just one more mph sign each on both sides of the road might help (at least help those drivers who tend to drive more or less at posted limits).
The new median at the intersection of 3rd and Grant has been helpful. However, I have seen a number of drivers who are disgruntled not being able to turn the direction they want go around the median in a dangerous way. In one instance I witnessed, I believe this caused a fender-bender accident. In another instance I experienced as a pedestrian crossing, a car made an illegal turn around the median and had to stop right before me. I suggest that there be an extra pylon placed at the ends of the median's yellow lines to disincentivize this erratic driving.
