Complaint of insufficient and unclear construction signage. Is making it difficult to get into parking lot where she works and sometimes forces her to take one way streets the wrong direction in order to access parking lot.
The corner of Winslow Drive and Allendale Drive has many reflective "stick" posts that are bolted to the street that are damaged or missing. These are in the eastbound lane of Winslow when turning south onto Allendale. Can these be repaired or replaced? Alternatively, since a dedicated right-turn lane exists at this intersection for turning south onto Allendale, can these posts be removed so the right-turn lane can be used again? Why was it determined that the right-turn lane can’t be used any longer? If the right-turn lane cannot be used, can that pavement be removed and the land converted to grass or a landscape bed?
Barbara Daniels called to inform us that the intersection of Third and Walker is obstructed by large shrubs, trees, and a tall fence that make it unable for motorists to see to get onto Third. She wasn't sure of the private residence's address, but wanted the City to do something about it.
Mr. Fleetwood stated that today he witnessed several vehicles going around a city bus that was stopped to let students off near the tennis courts. Mr. Fleetwood stated that 2 girls were nearly run over as they crossed the street to get to their cars that were parked in the parking lot. Mr. Fleetwood thinks that there should be some sort of traffic signal/caution light or possibily a crossing guard. He is afraid that someone is going to get hurt. Unclear road markings on Church Lane and Walnut intersection. Road moves from two lanes to one, but there is no clear marking for the turn lane/straight lane.
The Do Not Enter sign at the intersection of the east-west alley behind the Buskirk Chumley with Washington Street has been knocked down.
Note: Address shown above is approx. (intersection of Pete Ellis and Longview). Mr. Van Orman called to ask if speed bumps could be installed on Pete Ellis Dr. There are several elderly people who live in this area and it is unsafe to be walking in this area because cars are travelling too fast on Pete Ellis Dr.. There is also a great potential for accidents at the intersection of Pete Ellis and Longview due to the speeds.
Compact ice and snow builds up on the ped/bike underpass. It's extremely treacherous and NO ONE seems to even care enough to lay down some salt. The multi-use path up east 7th street along Park Doral apartments also sees little to no cleaning, but is supposed to be part of a vital pedestrian and bicycle artery. It might be cold, but we're still trying to use this without killing ourselves.
