Hi, When attempting to drive westbound on Countryside Lane outside Summit Elementary, we were told by a crossing guard that they were allowed to completely block westbound traffic and would not allow us to drive in the eastbound lane due to “their walkers”. I raised a complaint with the principal several weeks ago about not only convenience, but also the fact that emergency vehicles are not able to drive through. They responded indicating that people are only supposed to be parking on the far westbound side of the street and not blocking traffic, but that is not what’s happening. How do they have the authority to block traffic and decide who is or is not allowed to drive on a public street? They said it was “for 15 minutes” but no drop/off pick/up ever takes a mere 15 minutes as parents start lining up we before school lets out.

The North/South alley between 810 W. 7th and 804 W. 7th is being encroached upon by gardens, woodpiles, trees/vegetation and possibly the fence and cinder block garage owned by 810 W 7th St. As a result, the alley traffic is being diverted outside of the alley right of way and onto the private property located at 804 W. 7th. This appears to have been going on for a number of years. As the new owner of 804 W. 7th St., it is my full intention to re-claim the property/property line currently being encroached upon and proceed with renovations. I request that the Street Dept contact the owner of 810 W. 7th and order the encroachments be removed. With the assistance of a surveyor, I have located the NW and SW corner pins delineating the right of way and pounded new T posts just outside of the right of way in those spots and plan to post the entire property line once the encroachments are removed. Were I to reclaim the property line today, the alley would become impassible due to said encroachments. I request your assistance in remedying this situation in a civil and legal manner, as requests to the homeowner of 810 W.7th have fallen upon deaf ears. I request that you keep me in the loop regarding this issue. I would be happy to meet with a representative of the street dept, with survey in hand, to assist in clarifying and remedying this issue, as renovations of 804 W. 7th will begin in a few weeks. Cars parked in little tid bits and cars parked on the opposite side of the street blocks the road. I almost got hit from someone turning left onto N Washington Street because it turns into a one way street when everyone is parked. Please evaluate when cars are parked (during the day 3-5 pm expecially). I am not able to go up to the stop sign because there is a major blind spot someone can turn left into me. There is also a MAJOR pot hole on this road.

You have 8 workers with their thumbs up their butts doing absolutely nothing and with whatever cheap traffic barriers in place traffic was stopped 3 ways-I waited for 11 minutes heading north and the traffic was backed up past the intersection at Hillside I’ve never seen anything as incredulous in my entire life

The pedestrian crossing at the intersection of W. Gourley Pike & Kinser Pike is unmarked and thus invisible for oblivious passing motorists leading to a number of scary crossings for me. The speed limit is posted 30 mph but Northbound traffic often streams downhill from 17th at speeds more like 40 mph. Despite the danger crossing in my power wheelchair with velocitized drivers streaming in from SR 46 on the other side as well, it is the safest alternative with more severe problems on the Arlington bridge/Colonial Crest route reported separately.
