I bicycle commute from Park Ridge East to Indiana Ave. following the bicycle path along the railroad. Due to the bypass construction last week I had to cross the working site where the path meets the bypass, or one time I crossed at the light on 10th street. This morning my crossing was muddy. Detours for bicycles require more effort than detours for cars, especially in a hilly town like Bloomington. Moreover, they might require bicyclist to engage in high traffic stretches of roads or unsafe roads, as in the case I describe above. It appears to me that inconveniences and changes affecting car drivers are taken into account when construction works are planned. It does not appear to me that the needs of bicyclist are ever taken into account in these occasions. What is the plan you have in place for those following my commuting route? For how long I will have to expect construction on the bypass affecting my commute? Thank you, Stefano Fiorini
