Request for Street Sweeping in the Bike Lanes on Walnut, College and Rogers. The increase of downtown construction has lead to more debris and gravel in the bike lane - getting to the point it's not worth riding in the bike lane which is upsetting morning drivers since I'm now taking up one of the lanes on my bike. I've gotten two flats in the past week due to large gravel/glass and other hazardous material in the roadway.
Going west on 17th Street, just before the overpass over 37/69, I did not see a street sign for Crescent Rd. and missed my turn. If there is a sign there, I did not see it anywhere. Needs a street sign!
I would like to know why the recently completed improvements to E. 10th street near Smith Rd are so bumpy. Prior to these repairs the street was very smooth and now it is not. This was a very expensive repair to this area to create a crosswalk and it was not managed well. Do we have anyone who is in charge of quality control? Drive over this area and see what I mean. It needs to be completed correctly for the amount of taxpayer funds it cost.
asphalt cracking and breaking up - 1707 E. Thornton Drive needs patch Thanks!
The Street Department has enough things to do but we would like to add something to their list. The pavement along the curb in front of our house is breaking up in good sized chunks. There are a several spots that have broken through to the dirt below. One hole is probably eight or nine inches deep and filled with muddy water. We live at 3111 East Tapps Turn. Our street is an extension west of Olcott Avenue in Hyde Park. Thanks for your help. Steve Ulrey
THERE IS A POT HOLE AT THE INTERSECTION OF GRANT AND UNIVERSITY STREETS.
I was taking my wife to work at the hospital Monday morning. We pulled on to Rogers Street from Rockport at approximately 0656. One large, orange Young Trucking truck had already passed us on Rogers. We were approximately 50 yards south of the electric substation, driving north when something flew off the next orange Young Trucking dump truck as it was moving south on Rogers. We were surprised by the fist-sized impact and then swung around to pull into the Young Trucking , IMI facility off of Rogers (1602 S Roger St). We pulled right next to Young Trucking truck #9. This truck turned left, north on Rogers and then west on Patterson. I called the Young Trucking Company (812-332-0403) at 0659. The gentleman asked me which truck, I couldn’t tell that since it was moving in the opposite direction, but I did know what the number of the truck immediately behind it was #9. Assuming they keep track of which trucks get loaded with what, they know which truck was loaded immediately before #9. Young Trucking's position is that it must have been something in the roadway. Could someone please clean up any large, broken rocks and concrete on the street or sidewalk in front of the electrical substation, and entrance to 1602 S Roger Street?
