Sidewalk & Curb Complaints

2940-2998 Robins Bow

Case Date:
5/5/2017

My neighbors at 2802 S Forrester, when they re-landscaped their property 10 or so years ago, arranged to have the flow of water from their downspouts released onto the sidewalk at the shared edge of our two lots, which causes a tremendous flow of water onto the sidewalk in front of my property. This deposits debris on my property and creates treacherous conditions in the fall when rain occurs when temperatures are near freezing. This has been an irritant to me since the re-landscaping was complete but only recently did I read section 12.04.020 of the municipal code which would seem to prohibit such a discharge of water. Could you send someone to investigate this situation? The water comes out of two green pipes where our two properties abut the sidewalk on Robins Bow. This week the problem is particularly clear because of all the rain.

I'm confused. When I go to U Repor for a Sidewalk and Curb problem it shows that case #180502 has been Closed:Resolved even though the sunken curb hasn't been repaired, and Mr. Axsom says that I'm still on the list?

This sidewalk is uneven and cracked and makes it impossible to wheel anything on the pavement. The ground is covered in dirt and leaves which makes passage in the rain hazardous. It also floods in the rain.

Sidewalk & Curb Complaints

308 W 4th ST

Case Date:
3/9/2023

Hello! I work at WonderLab Science Museum. We were wondering what would be needed to improve a curb that is on the west side of our building in the front. It goes into an alley that school buses use. Bus drives have a very difficult time getting in without hitting the curb. This curb also has an accessibility ramp that does not line up with the rest of the side walk on 4th street going west (due to the entrance to the parking garage of the neighboring residence). The curb cut is currently closer to the alley way than on the corner of the sidewalk. We would like the ramp to moved to the corner of the curb for accessibility and bus movement. An oversized cut on that corner would be ideal. Thank you!

There is a damaged sidewalk with a large crack and significantly uneven surfaces causing a tripping hazard. Many less severe problem spots on sidewalks in the neighborhood have been fixed in the last 1-2 years, but this one was not. Thank you for the attention.

Sidewalk & Curb Complaints

311 E Cottage Grove AVE

Case Date:
10/28/2022

On the far east end of the brick sidewalk out front, nearly against the retaining wall of 311 E. Cottage Grove and alongside the alley is what remains of what was probably a former street sign pole. It was broken off at some point about 8 inches from the ground. The remaining stump of a steel pole is still there, and it is *VERY* sharp on the tip. It was painted yellow at some point - possibly an attempt to make this hazard visible, but that doesn't help at night. Someone could trip on it, or worse, someone could trip on something else and fall and be impaled on the spike at the top of it. Please remove it ASAP, but whoever removes it needs to understand how to lay bricks because after removal the bricks will need to be relaid and perhaps some will need replacement. Also, no need to replace the sign because there hasn't been one there in a long time and it was ridiculous in the first place to install a sign in a sidewalk where someone could walk right into it in the dark.
