Hello, I am writing to inquire about whether the sidewalk on the east side of S. Jackson St. between 3rd and 4th streets can be repaired. As a person with a visual impairment, I have a terrible time walking on the sidewalk in this location, which is in the block where my house is. The sidewalk is very uneven, with tripping hazards throughout its course due to decay. If I didn't have a visual impairment, it would certainly be easier to walk on this part of the sidewalk, but I know that others with no visual impairment also have a difficult time because of the deteriorated surface. Cassie Slone owns Cherry Canary Vintage (214 W. 4th St). There's a metal plate across her sidewalk that is disintegrating and she's concerned that it's dangerous if someone steps into it. She believes that a similar sidewalk issue was repaired at the business next to her several months ago.

Can the sidewalk at xxx East 7th Street be shaved down to eliminate the height difference between the two adjoining slabs? See photo attached. This height difference can be dangerous for westbound cyclists riding on the sidewalk who need to negotiate both a quick right turn and a left turn to enter the SR46 underpass. Now that an asphalt multi-use path has been built at Relato Bloomington at the intersection of Pete Ellis Drive and Longview Avenue, westbound cyclists are more apt to ride on the path/sidewalk vs. the street, and will continue to ride on the sidewalk all the way to the underpass. Cyclists will be going at speed since it is downhill westbound. To negotiate this sidewalk height disparity, while at the same time negotiating a sweeping turn, poses a dangerous situation that can be easily eliminated.

I'm confused. When I go to U Repor for a Sidewalk and Curb problem it shows that case #180502 has been Closed:Resolved even though the sunken curb hasn't been repaired, and Mr. Axsom says that I'm still on the list?

This sidewalk is uneven and cracked and makes it impossible to wheel anything on the pavement. The ground is covered in dirt and leaves which makes passage in the rain hazardous. It also floods in the rain.

On the far east end of the brick sidewalk out front, nearly against the retaining wall of 311 E. Cottage Grove and alongside the alley is what remains of what was probably a former street sign pole. It was broken off at some point about 8 inches from the ground. The remaining stump of a steel pole is still there, and it is *VERY* sharp on the tip. It was painted yellow at some point - possibly an attempt to make this hazard visible, but that doesn't help at night. Someone could trip on it, or worse, someone could trip on something else and fall and be impaled on the spike at the top of it. Please remove it ASAP, but whoever removes it needs to understand how to lay bricks because after removal the bricks will need to be relaid and perhaps some will need replacement. Also, no need to replace the sign because there hasn't been one there in a long time and it was ridiculous in the first place to install a sign in a sidewalk where someone could walk right into it in the dark.

This pothole makes navigating this busy sidewalk hazardous. Wheelchairs or strollers can get stuck; pedestrians with mobility issues can easily trip and fall.

Sidewalk in front of house has degraded to a point that it is dangerous if someone used a scooter in the dark along this stretch, or even walking. Next time the owner applies to renew the rental permit, please stipulate that the current sidewalk be taken up and a fresh one poured to match the rest of that block and remove the current hazard.

Rental permit should not be renewed until property owner repairs the sidewalk in front of house. It is highly degraded and dangerous.

418 e 8th st - sidewalk tripping point
