Ever since the city installed curb bump-outs for on-street parking some years ago, drivers have been blowing out tires and ruining wheel hubs at the southeast corner of Maxwell Lane and South Fess, usually as they are driving south on Fess and turning east onto Maxwell. I know this issue has come up before, and various solutions have been tried, but something more substantive needs to happen -- either reduce the projection of the curb or get rid of the bump-out altogether. I would estimate 15-20 drivers a year hit this curb. Yesterday, it happened twice. One driver was lucky and just blew out a tire. The second had to call a tow truck, which we see over and over again. Each driver thinks he/she is the only one to do this, so they don't think to tell the city. Please do something to fix this problem. It's costing people time and money on a regular basis. Thanks!

The prior uReport was finalized by saying the issue was mitigated. I walked by this morning and it hasn't been mitigated. The missing sidewalk is on the west side of Sare Rd about 200 yards south of Moore's. It's across the street from the Verona Coffee shop. At the NW corner of the intersection of 12th and Fess, there is a relatively new, ADA-compliant sidewalk/curb installation. There may be physical and/or legal reasons for having the center, raised concrete portion present, but it is not obvious and as a result is a trip hazard. We have tripped on it several times. There is a current project at the same intersection, so we were hoping that they could redo it or at least paint the section yellow so that it stands out. It is dangerous the way it is now.

The sidewalk from here all the way to the pedestrian crossing at Olcott sucks. It's an awful garbage sidewalk. There's been several reports about it being unsafe, and it's constantly blocked by vegetation. It's narrow and precipitous in places. Anything wider than a sedan risks clipping pedestrians.

AEG is installing fiber in my neighborhood and they have been putting their heavy trucks and boring machine on the sidewalk. The sidewalk from 14th to 17th on the west side of Rogers was already all cracked up from age but this is the straw that breaks the camels back. It is definitely much worse than it was a week ago, over almost the entire length. I want to make sure the homeowners aren't held responsible for this damage. It would have lasted years more without heavy trucks on it but now its decidedly concave and will almost certainly start giving up big chunks in the next winter.

Ridgefield IV neighborhood Bob Shaw is the developer. Bob tore out sidewalks august 2022 without city’s permission. Almost 2 yrs later and still no sidewalks. 3 residents with disabilities(one uses a scooter) along with multiple children in neighborhood. We need accessible sidewalks and for the city to go after Bob Shaw!

The apartment development on Gourley Pike has just poured a curb that impedes access to W. Cascade Ave. The curb extends into the approach to W. Cascade. There is no longer room for 2 cars to pass one another simultaneously to enter the street

The bump outs that have been added to Morningside Drive need to have reflective paint or some other sort of marking that can be seen both during the day and at night. My father pulled into town last night from NM (his first moment of moving to Bloomington!), and ran into one of the bump outs. The result was that he blew two tires. All of the bump out curbs already have many black tire marks on them, which is an indication that he is by far not the first person to make contact. I urge the city to add paint or something else that will draw attention to these, so that this doesn't keep happening.
