We are having problems with scooters driving on the sidewalk, we would like this parking area removed, it takes valuable space for store sandwich signs (businesses are already struggling) and encourages sidewalk use of scooters. Thank you,
Can the sidewalk at xxx East 7th Street be shaved down to eliminate the height difference between the two adjoining slabs? See photo attached. This height difference can be dangerous for westbound cyclists riding on the sidewalk who need to negotiate both a quick right turn and a left turn to enter the SR46 underpass. Now that an asphalt multi-use path has been built at Relato Bloomington at the intersection of Pete Ellis Drive and Longview Avenue, westbound cyclists are more apt to ride on the path/sidewalk vs. the street, and will continue to ride on the sidewalk all the way to the underpass. Cyclists will be going at speed since it is downhill westbound. To negotiate this sidewalk height disparity, while at the same time negotiating a sweeping turn, poses a dangerous situation that can be easily eliminated.
Hello, I am writing to inquire about whether the sidewalk on the east side of S. Jackson St. between 3rd and 4th streets can be repaired. As a person with a visual impairment, I have a terrible time walking on the sidewalk in this location, which is in the block where my house is. The sidewalk is very uneven, with tripping hazards throughout its course due to decay. If I didn't have a visual impairment, it would certainly be easier to walk on this part of the sidewalk, but I know that others with no visual impairment also have a difficult time because of the deteriorated surface. Caller states that a pile of sand and dirt was left on the sidewalk so long that it has now washed down the curb line the whole block and weeds are now growing in the gutter line. He does not think the street sweeper will be able to pick it up and believes it will need to be shoveled up.
Citizen stated that the sidewalk between Walnut & College is a mess on the south side near grey apartment houses. She is not sure if they are considered historic or not.
