To Whom It May Concern: I'm writing regarding recycling collection. On a few occasions during the past few months, including today, we have not had recycling picked up. I suspect that it's because our cans have been moved together since we put them out. My wife and I are well aware of the regulations that the recycling and trash cans must be separated on the street. On Sunday evenings, we put the cans out separated by at least six feet, as was the case last night. I came home from work today to find that the recycling was not picked up. Our trash can was moved adjacent to it. I'm not sure if it's because the trash pick up has set our can back too close, if it gets moved when the can falls over into the street when placed back, or if people are moving our cans because they want to park on the block, but this is a problem. I find this regulation of can separation extremely frustrating when we comply with the rules when we put our cans out only to have our recycling not picked up. Please reconsider how this system works. We simply don't have the luxury of time to sit and watch our cans until both have been picked up. We now have a bin full of recycling that will sit for another week with more accumulation occurring and nowhere to put it. We comply with the rules and should not be stuck in these situations simply because the system is too inflexible to handle adjacent bins that get moved after we put them out. Sincerely, Brian Kelly
