I tried to submit this report on 10/30/2019, but I am not sure that it went through. On the morning of 10/30/2019, a City of Bloomington pickup truck ran a red light in front of me at the intersection of 3rd and Indiana. The incident was captured on my dash cam. I have uploaded the video to this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJm5JdMn2Hk&feature=youtu.be I debated about whether to report this or not, but as someone that works in public safety, I decided it was important to report. After running the light, the person stopped at a gas pump at the Circle K station and presumably bought gas. So there should be a corresponding gas receipt. The video has the date and time stamp for your reference.

Re: Case #165561 Some debris from the accident remains near the RR underpass. Trash and weeds are still on Adams, and on Fountain, and on 8th Streets. Streets near the university at least get swept. Can the City seal the streets, so the weeds won't grow?

What's the deal with the city taking down two trees at this address? You have been working a couple hours on ONE tree since LAST week. You have more guys standing around than working! They show up at 7 AM with three or four vehicles stand around awhile, work for and hour or so then leave! This protracted pace is interfering with other work being done in the neighborhood. A professional service (Fowler) would have had both trees down and cleaned up in ONE DAY! What gives Bloomington? Time to start hiring out this work and end this seemingly wasteful government service? Thanks, Roger

I tried to use this area to have a quick meeting with colleagues before going to an appointment at a business on the square. This area was unavailable due to the mess. Balloons, needles, beverage cans, etc. (The yoga mat is mine.) Further, these benches are damaged and appear to be unmaintained. I then moved to the corner of the square where no needles were visible. There I was immediately solicited by panhandlers twice. All of this is unacceptable and I hope to see these areas cleaned and maintained on a proper schedule. The frequency with which I am required to defend myself physically against panhandlers here is becoming unbearable. It is unsafe to be downtown in Bloomington, Indiana.

Referencing case #170526...if Renwick gets their City trees trimmed, then we would like the same for our neighborhood. Please begin along Hancock Dr on the opposite side of the road from the park, continue up to Lindbergh and turn left. Continue down the right side. Turn left on W. 12th and then trim alongside the City alley between Oolitic and Lindbergh. As much of this overgrowth, particularly along Hancock, has obscured signs, it would be very helpful. Dear Mayor Hamilton and the city of Bloomington, I am contacting you and your office regarding the problem with the deer in our neighborhood. Once again, the deer are a problem for us and they are outright dangerous. I am not sure what the city is planning on doing with the problem, but I almost feel like I want to hire a sniper (and I am an animal lover) to get them off of our property or now purchase a BB gun. I am not a violent person, but I am at my wits end regarding this issue. Will the city only do something once a deer kills a child? I have heard of stories of dogs being killed by deer as well as homes being trashed by deer who have somehow gotten into somebody's home. The latest is that my wife got a broken ankle because of a deer and it required a trip to the ER at Bloomington hospital along with missed work for both of us. Luckily we have health insurance, but for those who don't...it is a very expensive endeavor that could have been avoided if the city would do something to cull these animals. Lately we have seen a herd of 8 deer roaming around Somax. I would like your opinion on how you plan to fix this problem because I do see this as a problem in our city and especially our neighborhood. Also, I heard that the city has a 2 million dollar surplus this year and wondered if that meant we would finally get the sidewalk and repair of the dangerous culvert that has been promised to the former owners of our house as well as to us. Our taxes go up every year (Judy Sharp just assessed another increas of $50,000 to our home value which raised our taxes again quite drastically). We can't seem to ever get a break from her with her assessments every year and it is quite frustrating. Every year we pay more and more taxes and get absolutely nothing for it. Thank you for the quick response and repair of the crumbling pavement and holes in the street in front of our house on Tapps Turn. I wrote to you late in the afternoon and early the next morning the work space had been marked and then repaired shortly after that. We greatly appreciate this. Thanks, Steve Ulrey
