There is a homeless person sleeping in the bridge/walkway from the 4th Street parking garage. They are wearing charcoal colored jeans, appear to have a white undershirt and a black one over it. He had his head covered with a black zip-up hoodie, so I couldn't see his face.
Tenants of CFC Properties in Fountain Square are calling us to complain about sleeping homeless. I have already submitted a ticket around 7:43 AM today with the guy's description. I have been asked to send in another ticket, so I apologize for the redundancy.
There is a man sleeping the in skywalk from the 4th street parking garage to the Fountain Square building. Buzzed black hair, mixed race, red shirt, gray sweats and tennis shoes.
There is a syringe along the road about half way between 6th and 7th on Oak street. It is right across the street from the very large sycamore tree on the west side.
There was a handbill on my car, under the windshield wiper, in the 4th St. Garage today (image of front of bill attached, the other side is an ad for an event at the Upstairs Pub) as I left from work around 2:45. I noticed on the way out many other cars had the same handbill. I looked up municipal code 14.28.060 to see that it is unlawful to affix advertisements to automobiles in the city. I also saw on a City Solicitor Factsheet that solicitors are not allowed to operate in city owned parking lots or spots of any variation. Can someone follow up with the business to hold them accountable? Thank you.
My package was stolen from my apartment building, and I was told to make a police report in order to help find out where it is.
There is a foul odor in the neighborhood on some evenings after dark. It smells like chemicals to me. Other neighbors describe it as "burning trash". I'm concerned that it may be meth.
Hello, I am the facilities manager of Trinity Episcopal Church (111 s Grant Street). I reported a gas meter that I believe is unsafe. My case was closed with no further discussion about the concerns of the Church or the well-being and safety of us or our neighbors. The pipe on the meter is NOT well protected and it juts out beyond the profile of the building. Large trucks traverse that alley, not to mention cars. Our building has been struck on occasion by vehicles driving through or backing up while delivering food/supplies etc. The small pipe protecting the meter is only 4 feet tall and has been struck one time already by the wheel of a vehicle. We strongly believe that this will not be the last time and that our building and the well-being of its occupants are being placed in an unsafe situation. While I did not ask that the meter be moved - I would ask that it be better protected at the very least. The pipe protecting it is NOT adequate and it does not address the remainder of the gas pipe that is in danger of being struck by the mirrors or other parts of the very large trucks that regularly enter and exit that alleyway. These are the two issues we want addressed. I will be saving copies of this report and the last one - along with the city's response in our files here at Trinity. When that pipe is struck by a passing vehicle, we will be holding all of the parties we've reported this issue to, responsible. I strongly urge the City and the Gas Company Centerpoint to reconsider leaving that meter in its unsafe and inadequately protected condition. Since the dismantle of 2 homeless camps last week they seem to have migrated down the b line to a wooded area in a residential area within a block of a boys and girls club, and 3 blocks away from a middle school. between 11th street and cottage grove ave on Summit st. The city just towed a few abandoned cars from this street a week ago. Now their is more cars that people are clearly living in. They are setting up tents and seating areas like its their living room, theirs tents popping up in the woods along this road, and the TRASH and SMELL is getting out of hand. This is becoming a safety hazard for children who walk home from the school and boys and girls club in the surrounding areas as this is a school zone. The people residing in this "camp" scream, argue, fight, and curse loudly at all hours of the day and night. They block traffic loitering by the cars and scream at any car that tries to get through them, and have animals who are leaving droppings everywhere and no one picks it up. This is also encouraging people to start parking rv's in this area as well, and it is turning into "skid row". PLEASE do not let this camp get set up and get as bead as the two you just dismantled. It will be harder to get them to leave the longer you wait to address this. I have found several syringes in my yard along the alley so their is clearly drugs being used and distributed at this new homeless camp on SUMMIT st. in between 11th st & Cottage grove ave. Right across from the gas station on 11th. thank you.
