As of this afternoon, I have orange and red flags marching across my front lawn, far from the utility easement. I don't think there are electrical or TV cable wires there at present. Is ATT about to put them there?
I live down the street from a construction site which is consistently incredibly noisy very early in the morning. I have reported this construction site for noise violations before, and the problem was, for a time, resolved. However, the problem has started again as they are once again beginning work early in the morning (around 5 a.m.) which, I am aware, is well before the time they are supposed to start even staging for their operations. I am an IU grad student and I need to be able to rest. I am aware that my neighborhood is in a rather defunct part of town, but people still live here and need to be able to function as normal. The East-West alley in this location is not accessible by neighbors. This alley has not been vacated, but is blocked on both sides by gates installed by the property owner at 910 N Madison. The gate on the east side is topped with barbed wire and makes the gate on the back of my property that used to be accessible to the alley, no longer usable. These gates also block any pedestrian traffic from walking from the Habitat neighborhood to Madison Street or connecting to the alley in the Maple Heights Neighborhood directly on the other side of Madison. The blocking of this un-vacated alley with locks, gates, and barbed wire makes it inaccessible and gives the impression that it is solely for the use as a driveway for the property owner at 910 N Madison Street. Alleys are essential connectors in traditional neighborhoods like this one for pedestrians, wildlife, as well as for neighbors to access the rear of their property. I would like to be able to access the rear of my property through the installed gate once again. I have photos that show the area I am referring to, but am not able to upload them due to the limit of one photo upload. This alley would also be convenient to many people as a connector for walking to the western side of Maple Heights Neighborhood, Tri-North Middle School, or the public Mills Pool, but it is instead blocked for public use. I would like to request that someone come out to view this site and the fences for compliance with the alley being not vacated and for the use of barbed wire.
The fence that was installed along the border of a vacated alley is excessively tall. Can someone come out to this location to assess the height of the fence and the shed that is even taller that was built right on the property line. This fence blocks light and is very tall from my side of the property. I have other photos of this fence from different angles, but can't upload them here due to the limit of one photo upload.
The new fiber optic box in the Ramble Road W tree plot has two bolts that are on the lid but, not installed. Hopefully, someone will be back around to insert them.
After the city did digging to put in the new internet system, we have a hole on our property that needs to be repaired.
Construction of "The Standard" has been going on for 1.5 years, and they start at 5AM! Are there any regulations about how early people can make noise when building something? It seems like they should at least wait until the sun is up. And for how long they can do it? Do they even have a valid permit?
Our street has no street sign (or stop sign). I live in Winslow Crossing and we don't have a sign at the intersection of Henderson & S Walnut St Pike (nor do we have a stop sign leaving our neighborhood) and it has resulted in a lot of confusion in the slightly more than year I have lived here since I purchased 2851 S Walnut Street Pike. Included are friends/family being unable to locate the address (we have no neighborhood sign and my HOA when I contacted them is in no hurry to get one), when I called for a non-emergency police issue he couldn't find the neighborhood, packages have nearly been sent back or just plain delivered to the wrong address because my address "doesn't exist" (because they can't find it). So I'm wondering what it would take to get a street name sign and hopefully also a stop sign, installed at the main intersection to help with the confusion. Please let me know if there's anything I can do about this because it's becoming quite frustrating! Thank you, Denise J. Humphries
This weekend we WILL be trimming the trees around the sidewalk inside our cul-de-sac. However, we along with all of our neighbors are not happy with the "no mow" grass that is on Sare Road outside of our property. Matt Smethurst is who told us it was "no mow" and would stay lower than 8" in height. It did not stay short and is now hard to see around and looks awful. I tried to email back to Matt off of our original communication and his email bounced back as not active. Could someone please help with this?
