Back in early June I filed a ureport (#168853) about my recycling can going missing, and someone kindly replied to say they’d drop off another one. I just wanted to check that it’s still on its way? We’ve accumulated a big backlog of recycling over the last 6 weeks. Thanks!
There is a section of 'street' between Dunn and Henderson that I believe was supposed to be a continuation of E Wilson Street. It is just a grass area that the city owns. However, the city is doing no maintenance on this piece of property. There is a dead pine tree that needs to be removed and a very large maple tree that is overgrown and threatening to drop branches onto cars. This tree also present a health issue in that there is a large poison ivy vine growing up the tree. I have tried calling the city forester multiple times without response. Can the one tree be removed, the other pruned and cleared of poison ivy, and the grass on this city land occasionally mowed?
We are the 1556 S. Andrew Circle, Bloomington residents. This dead tree belongs to the City and it happened to be located right in front of our house. It really hurts our neighborhood’s green environment. We are encouraged to notify the City in order to remove or replace this Dead Tree ASAP. We tried several calls within the last three weeks, but no one really knows where we need to report. Finally we were asked to contact Mr. LEE from your forest department. But He neither answer our phone call nor response to our messages. We are very upset with Lee’s irresponsible attitude. If this is not his responsibility, he needs to call us and let us know who will be the right person to call. His ignorance to residents’s request is not acceptable. We are forced to write this email and hope City will pay attention to it. There is no too small things can be ignored if City really takes its responsibility. Hope to hear from you soon. On the bike path from Weatherstone to Davis, there is poison ivy growing across the path near the top of the steep part on the right side as you are going up the hill. This path needs to be wide enough for two bikes to pass. That's an especially bad place for poison ivy because it's right where someone might give up making it all the way up and need to step off the bike.
Thanks to the City’s recent quick action of cutting City’s dead tree in front of our house, now it looks much better. Here we just want to give City some advise in choosing the new tree plant location. It seems to us that the dead tree stump must be removed completely in order to replace a new one in the spot, due to the underground gas and water pipelines heavily laid around the tree stump, which makes it very difficult for you to chose another new plant location. We learnt this from the opposite newly house built situation. There were so many red flags around the dead tree stump. So in order to prevent from touching those gas line and cause the gas explosion, City must do it very carefully . Thank you very much for your prompt attention.
A Ford Country Squire Station wagon appears to have been abandoned on the street in front on my house in the 1200 block of South Washington Street. The car has not been moved since July 24th. Hi - there is a mosquito infestation in the woods between Oaklawn park & meadowcreek. I can see the trail from backyard. There was a cloud of mosquitos. It is a wildlife sanctuary there are what I believe rare birds I do not want it cut down but I want an arborist/ ecologist to assess if pine forests naturally have 2 feet of weeds, vines, underbrush. I googled misquote habitat & it says this exactly. Does the city own this easement ( trail)? If not - is it in city limits & issue a citation? I looked on city website there is a line here so I don’t know if the woods is on city or county side. There is a new disease in America , EEE, that mosquitos carry and it can be fatal or cause seizures. I know Mother Nature does their landscaping.
