I just wanted to alert you to some defamatory, and possibly criminal, behavior demonstrated by the regional manager of Hunter Properties, one of the larger leasing companies in Bloomington. He's both personally insulting me after I pointed out the poor handling of a pool closure policy and threatening to put my IU teaching position in jeopardy because he doesn't like that I pointed out the office's mishandling of the matter to the office and online.
As a housing office I would want to know about this happening in my city; thus, I'm alerting you. I'm happy to email the entire printed PDF since I know these files may not attach.

For over a year, both the owner and tenant of this location have made repeated offenses against city code - including dumping yard waste in the ally, not picking up trash in yard and on sidewalk, having multiple broken down cars parked (for over a year) on property without attempts to repair/remove them. Owners are constantly parking on sidewalk for days at a time. Tenants have aggressive dog that has jumped the fence and attacked people. Blue car in front of house (with flat tires) hasn't moved in over a year, and does not run. Blue SUV doesn't run, and hasnt moved in months. Trash and recycle bin are constantly over flowing and spilling trash. Bins are never removed from sidewalk. Witnesses have caught tenants throwing trash into neighbors yard.

Several neighbors, and myself, have been victims of actions done by the unhoused. Just last night (1-5-24), our car was broken into for the second time in less than a year. This time, we saw the person before anything was taken. This area needs help. While we are all understanding of the needs of the unhoused, we in this neighborhood, have a right to feel safe for our families. In less than a year, this area has had vehicle break ins, home invasions, confrontation about blocking front doors, and theft. Please help all Bloomington residents, not just the unhoused.

Noise all day from the piercing beeping of the construction trucks on the tennis courts. Is there a volume control? Even with all my windows closed and the walls are insulated, I hear this beeping in my house over a block away. It makes it VERY difficult to concentrate and work from home! When will this project be done? This construction project is going to force me to go into to the office.

This is a follow-up on my complaint from 8/18, #173408, regarding the noise from the work on the tennis courts. The piercing truck backing-up noise went on late yesterday, possibly until around 8 pm. This morning it began at 6:40 am. Is this not a bit too early? Is 12-14 hours of this noise in a day not excessive? This noise has been going on all week. How much longer will it persist? Speaking with my neighbors, this noise is forcing us to risk covid and go into the office. Is there no way to turn down the volume on the warning beep? As bad as it is for me, I imagine this must cause some loss of hearing and sanity for the construction workers using the equipment.

The construction at 1020 East Maxwell Lane is very disruptive. There is a lot of noise from early morning through the afternoon. Trucks beeping, sawing... Since I am working from home, the noise really interferes with my being able to work effectively. There are so many trucks parked along Manor Road that people have difficulty driving down Manor. The large dumpster they have on Maxwell Lane, blocks the view and makes turning onto Maxwell rather dangerous. More trucks parked on Maxwell add to this challenge. This construction has been going on a long time.

Customer called to complain about restaurant's grease in alley behind Grazzi. Customer is an employee of King Dough. Another customer (also a King Dough employee) confirmed that the situation is ongoing. There is a grease collection container (for recycling restaurant grease and oil) that may be leaking or just overflowing.
Complaint was called into city switchboard on Saturday night. Alley needs to be cleaned and dumper counseled.
