Dear John, I'd like to draw your attention to something that's happening at Walnut Grove apartment complex south of town. Somebody has recently bought it, is raising the rents, and economically challenged people are having to move out with nowhere to go. I run a food pantry there once a month and have gotten to know many of the people who live there and they are angry and frightened. What's happening there may be legal, but is certainly unethical. I understand that you are interested in creating low income housing, but this is a situation where low income housing is being flipped for a profit and leaving many people literally out in the cold. To the best of my knowledge, this property is not zoned residential. There is not a HAND permit on file either. But there are people living in the garages and possibly in other structures on the lot (shed/RV/Semi trailer). I don't believe the property is connected to sanitary sewer and may have an old septic not rated for residential.

Raw sewage coming out from under this trailer and it smells really bad. Has talked to the older gentlemen who lives here but he is sick..may not own this trailer and it is not a registered rental. Can hear the sewage coming out whenever toilet is flushed etc.
