The Twin Lakes Recreation Center continues to delay repairs on their turf field in places where the turf has worn too thin, in some places work all the way through to the concrete. We had multiple incidents in our league game this past Sunday where our players narrowly avoided serious injury because of this. Stepping on this spot the wrong way while running, or tripping or falling on it, can cause someone to tear the ligaments in their leg or break a bone. It's not easy to see when you're running fast, and not easy to avoid when you're playing a game on the field. We all have to sign liability waivers to play there, but we are also paying Twin Lakes to provide a safe environment, and this is not safe. Twin Lakes management said they plan to "have the company come patch once leagues are over. As bad as it has gotten we might move that up to spring break week." What does that do to protect our players for the next two weeks then? We need to do something about this spot now before someone gets hurt. Hundreds of people play on this field every week, including dozens of children on the youth soccer teams. What are they going to do to make it safe before the company comes to patch the field?
Please respond so I know someone saw this. Thank you for your consideration.

The turf field is becoming unsafe for those who regularly use it. We pay to rent that field out and are seeing more injuries due to missing turf, minimal turf, or very uneven repairs. This year compared to years past is claiming more leg injuries across a number of sports.

Turf is hazardous! There are large divots that can cause serious injuries to players. Please advise!

I am greatly disturbed and feel unsafe playing on this turf field at Twin Lakes. The gravel is shallow and unsafe for sports like soccer that involve a lot of sharp cuts and sliding. I play with the ultimate frisbee community on the weekends and many of us have gotten injured. I request that they install new turf or find a way to patch up the many holes and concrete patches.

The turf on the field needs some working on. Rock hard, terrible for knees or impact situations.

With the hot weather recently we've been taking our small children to the switchyard park playground earlier in the morning to beat the heat. It's really baffling as to why the restrooms here don't open until 10:00 AM. There are a lot of families on the playground before then that would really appreciate restroom access for small children.

The showers between locker rooms 3&4 barely work. The showers between locker rooms 1&2 work great, its frustrating as it seems like an easy fix.

Both shower drains are badly backed up, to the point of nearly flooding the adjacent bathrooms. This is extremely unsanitary as well as flooding risk to the facility. This has been reported to staff a minimum of five times over the past several weeks but to my knowledge no action has been taken.
