Goat Farm Trail, near Sherwood Oaks Park (This is a separate issue from the large tree that fell by the shelter): A large tree branch has snapped and is precariously hanging over another tree, posing a risk of falling/taking both trees down. The tree is is alongside the East side of Goat Farm Trail, across from the playground at Sherwood Oaks Park. It is between the playground and the tree break. I wouldn't say it is an emergency, but it should probably be removed just in case. Thanks!
on the b line trail, on the east side just south of lamp post 7, there is a piece of rebar sticking up about 1" out of the gravel. This is a hazard. I expect you could use a small sledge and a punch of sorts to push it well below the surface. Mike
There was bad storm that started about 11:30pm May 10th. The storm knocked down a huge tree in the wooded area next to my apartment. The tree was knocked down into the trail that runs around Twin Lakes so there is no access through anymore.
Three lights out on the B-Line: 61, 77, 153
On Winslow Park trail west side by batting cage a medium size tree has fallen across trail. Also on east side in wooded section all the illumination lights are dark - not working. Thanks, GG
A B-Line Trail bicyclist using one of our maintenance stations reported to me that there are trail lights out on the trail near the overpass on the section northwest of Rogers.
Several of the bridges on the trail at RCA park have severe damage. One of them has been broken for weeks, the other has several broken boards and has become unsafe in the last day. There is also a deep pot hole in the asphalt. I am sending pictures of the problems. I greatly appreciate what all of you do! Thank you!
For the last few mornings there have been cars parked in front of the entrance to the Polly Grimshaw bike bath on the street right by the Park Ridge Park playground. I would like to request a more visible "no parking" sign be installed as this can be very inconvenient and even dangerous depending on how fast you are going on a bike.
I routinely walk along S. Highland Ave. just north of the Y and then around the Winslow Sports Complex trail. I've noticed a lot of poison ivy growning very close to the sidewalk and then along the trail on the west side (near Highland) near the batting cages. I hope someone will see to it that this is removed or killed so no pedestrians are at risk. Thanks
