Broken glass (bottle) on the Polly Grimshaw Trail just north of Eastbay Apartment Complex dumpster area. This has happened 2 times in the last 3 months in the same area. I cleaned up the last one myself since I frequently commute by bike on this route.
Light for parking lot at Church Lane trailhead is blinding to eastbound drivers. Is realignment possible? Thanks!
The raised traction on the boardwalks in Bryan park is too tall and poses a trip hazard. In addition, there is a small section near the east end of the boardwalk by the adult fitness equipment that is warped so that it is sticking up more than the rest. It's subtle, but it's problematic. Several people who saw me trip on it today said they had struggled on the same spot earlier today or earlier in the week.
The trail / path around Bryan Park is being obstructed on the northwest corner of the tennis courts. The bushes and brush are overgrown and reducing the width of the path significantly.
The port-o-let in the parking lot for Clear Creek Trail off Church Lane has been damaged. It looks like it's been hit by a vehicle. The door is hard to latch and there's a large gap between the back and right side panel giving a peeping tom clear visual access inside. I noticed this on Friday, 9/1, someone else may have already reported this. Thank you.
Light number 56 on the B-Line is not working. Its located across from Cardinal Spirits between Allen and Dodds.
I’ve been using the trails mainly Clear Creek for several years. I’m a bike rider plus walking. The Clear Creek trail seems to be ignored a lot in the last year or so. In the past couple of weeks we have had strong winds, some trees have blown down. The trees were removed in a timely fashion but the small limbs and debris from t/he clean up was left untouched. One area north of That Road and just north of the water fountain gravel and dirt continues to wash out onto the trail but nothing is ever done to resolve the problem. Walking is not as bad as biking but biking can be a real hassle. The trail gets so bad sometimes that I go to Karst Farm even though it’s not as convenient. It seems a lot is being spent to develop the area south of Grimes and Clear Creek gets ignored. I see maintenance workers driving up and down the trail and they even sit and talk a lot but no one ever gets out of the vehicle to improve the trail when only a few minutes could make a big difference. I live off of Thornton Dr and walk the B-Link trail to Switchyard Park daily. I have been observing a Cooper's hawk and two chicks in a nest for several weeks now, and was dismayed to see the city doing tree work over the last few days. They seem to have missed the tree with the hawks in it, but I would like to know 1) what environmental assessments were undertaken prior to conducting the tree work and 2) why the decision was made to remove branches now, during the nesting season, rather than in the fall or winter when most birds are not actively nesting. The disturbance from neighboring trees and noise could have been enough to make the birds abandon the nest out of fear for their safety, and they have lost significant protection from neighboring trees.
