There is a rotting deer carcass in the lake, right on the shore near the west north shore trail. I believe it was shot during the annual hunt but it was never collected. My sister is an ecologist and says that it should be removed from the lake to prevent e coli contamination. It is extremely pungent and can be located just by the smell. I have also tied a small green trash bag on a small tree along the trail, just uphill from the carcass.

We got the tiniest bit off trail and saw from a distance, a skeleton draped on a tree, after getting closer we saw it was a deer skeleton but thought you guys might want to move it since it’s so close to the trail (it’s on the trail portion that would’ve went to where the old tire swing was before it was taken down)

I’ve been using the trails mainly Clear Creek for several years. I’m a bike rider plus walking. The Clear Creek trail seems to be ignored a lot in the last year or so. In the past couple of weeks we have had strong winds, some trees have blown down. The trees were removed in a timely fashion but the small limbs and debris from t/he clean up was left untouched. One area north of That Road and just north of the water fountain gravel and dirt continues to wash out onto the trail but nothing is ever done to resolve the problem. Walking is not as bad as biking but biking can be a real hassle. The trail gets so bad sometimes that I go to Karst Farm even though it’s not as convenient.
It seems a lot is being spent to develop the area south of Grimes and Clear Creek gets ignored. I see maintenance workers driving up and down the trail and they even sit and talk a lot but no one ever gets out of the vehicle to improve the trail when only a few minutes could make a big difference.
Thanks for your time.

This is a follow-up to case #164460, which was marked as "resolved", but has not been resolved. This is part of a group of trees decimated by Indiana Railroad that is currently hanging across the trail in Butler Park. The lights mentioned in case #164460 have not been repaired and all of the fallen trees both in the actual park area and in the adjoining Indiana Railroad property have not been touched.

About a month ago on a Saturday, a group of kids from the baseball fields (spectators not players) were horseplaying unsupervised on the adult workout station. They were scooping the gravel from the workout area with their shoes and throwing it at each other and all over the adjacent trail. The trail in this spot remains covered with most of the gravel even a month later, presenting a hazard especially to those using the trail with a wheeled device (bike or walker, for example). Would it be possible to bring a broom and sweep the gravel back into the workout station and clear the trail? It is just north of the entrance to the park.

Hello--
Once a week a group of us run on the Rail Trail...we are primarily a collection of faculty from IU who really enjoy the trails that P&R provide (THANKS). We are also truly a multi-generational group...with a couple of our members ALWAYS....and I do mean always....mentioning how nice they thought it was to see a plaque honoring George Heise and others near the bridge at the end of the Rail Trail. George was a longtime member of the Psychology department and a colleague/teacher for many in our group. So, they were very saddened to see that the plaque has been stolen. I've attached a picture of where it used to be, and hope you could find it in the budget to replace it. I'd appreciate a response. Thanks again.

Fiber contractors did not tunnel deep enough when they crossed the B-Line (what a surprise!). In the section of the trail between 1st and Dodds there is now a sort of "speed bump" spanning the width of the trail pavement from where they crossed from one side to the other.

Similar to the previous case #193719, the new fiber optic cables that were installed have created speed humps along the Bline trail between Dodds and 1st. I've seen that this is to be repaired already, but I want to add another complaint point to ensure visibility.
Additionally, south of the trail tree roots have begun to surface creating large bumps/uneven terrain closer to Dodds St. The roots were attempted to be repaired with crack sealer, but the bumps still exist.
