The people living in the home have been piling up trash in their back yard for months and the pile is starting to move to the side of the house. The front yard has not been maintained either with trash and uncut grass.

Good Afternoon.
I hope that someone in your department can check into this issue. In the 1200 block of South Madison Street, the westside sidewalk is blocked by what used to be (I assume) a sofa and a downed tree. The sofa has been there for a couple of weeks & the tree came down this past weekend. I live in the 1400 block and drive past it daily so I, and I'm sure the rest of my neighbors, would truly appreciate it if these problems could be taken care of.
Thank you so much!
Sincerely,
Martha Selk

Reference UReport Case #180780
Sorry, I should have said that the sidewalk that is blocked in the 1200 block of South Madison is on the eastside, not the westside.
So Sorry!
Thanks again.

Update to UReports #180780 & #180783
Good Morning!
Someone has shifted the tree so that none of it is in the street but it seemed to still be somewhat on the sidewalk.
Thanks again.

This empty lot is on North Summit two lots South of 11th. This collection of garbage occurred from a camp during the last several months. The camp has since vacated and has relocated. The same result is sure to occur again unfortunately at a new location. This was reported at the beginning and was told nothing could be done and the neighborhood should work it out. This issue is destroying our city. Regardless of this being a private or city lot or in what area of the city this is taking place someone in city government needs to take ownership and provide the leadership and use of city resources to remedy this issue. Citizens and neighborhood associations can only do so much. Landlords and property owners need to be held accountable. Action needs to be taken. The problem is only getting worse. This case needs to remain active until this situation is resolved. A simple drive by is no solution. It’s obvious that if we cannot take care of the issues on Kirkwood (the focal point of our community) current department leaders are not qualified to continue in their positions. This can be remedied without being harsh or heavy handed. It takes leadership, commitment, communication and perseverance.
