This morning when I went out to gather up my carts I noticed that the bar that goes across the middle of the front of my small trash cart was only in one hole. The bar fell completely off completely as I pulled the cart up the driveway. I assume that bar is essential for emptying the cart. Do you have any advice about how I can get the bar to fit back in both holes? At the moment it’s in one hole and angled up at about a 30 degree angle, which doesn’t seem very useful. Just out of curiosity, what is the expected life-span of the carts? They are already starting to look beat up. My recycling cart has a piece missing on the corner of the lid. The hinge on my trash container was damaged during trash pickup.

The trash or recycling truck drove through the median area in the middle of the cul de sac in between 500 and 501 South Arbutus Drive. This left deep tire ruts in the grass. City trash and recycling truck drivers normally back down our street since the trucks are too large to navigate the turn-around. The driver today may have been unfamiliar with this practice.

The city's garbage and recycling trucks are tearing up the circular median between 500 and 501 South Arbutus because they are too large to turn around in the cul-de-sac. I have reported this issue several times. I can arrange with the other residents of our street to put all of our garbage and recycling bins on either the east or west side of the street (whichever is preferred by the truck drivers) to make this easier so that they can back in or back out of the street rather than trying to turn around. Please let me know if you would like for us to do this.
