1101-1275 S College Mall Rd

At the stoplight on E. Covenanter, close to the shopping complex with Kroger, there is a lack of painted street markings indicating where the left-turn lane is and where the street at the intersection is divided between traffic directions. I have often witnessed this resulting in confused drivers, who sometimes attempt driving straight across College Mall Road when they are actually in the left-turn lane. Proper street markings and arrows should be painted to make this less confusing and less dangerous for everyone.

The location is Maxwell La. & Sheridan Rd. (I don't know how 311 W. 8th st.came up on this form!) I leave 834 Sheridan to go to High St. via Maxwell about 4-5x/week for the past 7 years, and I've always thought how helpful it would be to have a stop sign on Maxwell to make a left turn there safer. Cars going east on Maxwell are not seen as I stop at Sheridan until about 2-3 car lengths distance because they are coming up a hill. Many times, even though I've looked carefully, a car will come up behind me quite close after I've made my left turn, & often it's because I think the other car might be going a bit fast. A stop sign here could make the turn much safer. (This form needs a "reply requested" option. I would appreciate a reply!Thank you.)

Hi, South High Streets traffic has much increased as it is the detour for Sare Road. It is also a road that many children walk on to get to Childs Elementary school in the mornings. Not only is the traffic heavier now, it seems faster. There are not many stop signs between Moore's Pike and the roundabout at Winslow and it seems to me that traffic is now just speeding through High, particularly in the mornings and wonder if something can be done. Thank you, Cynthia Ramlo

I'm not sure if this intersection is in Bloomington City limits, or within the jurisdiction of Monroe County. As you enter Gates Drive from westbound N. Jacob Drive (by Wendy's), the flowers and plants have grown so high that you cannot see northbound traffic on Gates Drive. I entered this intersection twice today and had close calls because I could not see oncoming traffic, and I'm in a large pickup. Thanks.

Corner of Nancy and Viva. I would like to request a stop sign. Traffic on Nancy moves quickly, and visibility is poor for cars exiting from Viva onto Nancy. Cars also frequently turn quickly from Nancy to Viva (going north) and have limited visibility. The corner is a school bus stop, and Viva is a street where many children live and ride their bikes. If a stop sign isn't possible, the next solution would be to cut back the medium-sized pine trees on the south side of the corner on the Viva side. Thanks.

Could you please look at putting a 4-way stop in at the intersection of Pete Ellis and Longview. Because of the increased traffic due to the closing of the 10th and by-pass intersection, it makes it nearly impossible to get across Pete Ellis whilst traveling on Longview.

We would like to post or have the city post signage redirecting 46 bypass traffic to pete ellis for the businesses effected by the closed entrance to the strip malls at 46 Bypass and 3rd Street. At Starbucks, we have lost over a third of our business since the closing of that entrance. Similar reports are available from the surrounding local businesses.

I have a business at 3rd & Dunn and I watch vehicles go the wrong way almost everyday. Last Friday, a motorcycle rider almost got hit by another vehicle. The motorcycle driver ran up on the curb to avoid a collision. There is a one way sign located on the base of the stop light. That's not enough to warn people not to go the wrong way in oncoming traffic. Cars in both directions are traveling at fast rates of speed. It's only a matter of time when a bad wreck is going to occur. I seen two cars go the wrong way today within two minutes of each other. Also, there is one side of the street that needs a predestian crossing signal. I see students crossing at that corner taking a big risk crossing or attempting to cross the street with no idea that a vehicle is approaching the light. This is truly a problem and I don't want to witness someone getting hurt or killed because no one took action.

Who is in charge of starting street construction all around campus just before fall classes begin?
