Hello. You might recall that I recently asked the City about removing this sign; you stated it was the jurisdiction of the State. Here's my request to them and their reply from June 18. I doubt this is a legal sign from understanding past history. Can you remove this unneeded sign and alleviate sign pollution? Can you please look into removing the temporary sign that was installed on SR46 in Bloomington at its intersection with Pete Ellis Drive? The sign points directions to local businesses whose entrances were affected during last year's SR46 Bloomington bypass construction project. This sign is located on the NW corner of SR46 (East Third Street) and Pete Ellis Drive. It's obvious this sign was meant to be temporary, and now that construction is complete it should be removed. Dear Mr. Arvesen, I sent your concerns to our Construction Department. They state that the temporary sign in question is not a sign that INDOT and/or the Contractor working on the State Road 46 Bypass project installed. This is a sign that the shopping center had made and installed. You would need to contact the shopping center management to have this sign removed because it is a sign that they had installed, not INDOT. Our Construction Department has also sent an email to the City of Bloomington to notify them of your concerns about this sign.

Hello, If you are not the correct contact, would you please forward this as appropriate? I am a faculty member at the School of Education. I walk to work daily and need to cross Third St. at Rose Ave. Is there any chance of having a crosswalk at this intersection? It is often very difficult to cross with the sometimes long lines of traffic coming from both directions. Finding a break in the traffic and competing with traffic turning onto Third from Rose is often very dangerous. Also, since I walk on Rose heading north from Hunter, I am forced to walk on the road until I reach Third St. What are the chances of having sidewalk installed on Rose south of Third? Turning left (south) from W Jacob Dr onto Gates Dr is tricky. A roundabout at that intersection would help. Also, 2nd St/Bloomfield Rd needs a makeover like 3rd St got. The intersections with Weimer Rd and with W Allen St are problematic. These are problems you're probably already aware of. Sorry.

1717 Circle Dr, Bloomington, IN. The grasses on the corner of Circle Dve and Ruby Lane make it difficult for a driver/cyclist coming to the intersection able to see oncoming traffic from the east? As a driver/cyclist you have to come out into the intersection to see if you can proceed. Can these be trimmed or the one closest to the corner removed to allow visibility?

I live on W. Ralston Drive, and many people drive through there to avoid the traffic on Tapp/Country Club. The problem is that they drive really fast, way over the speed limit of 30 mph. We don't have sidewalks and I often feel unsafe walking from my car or my house to my mailbox. My yard has a ditch out front so anyone walking in front of my house has to walk in the street, not in the yard. I would love to have speed bumps installed on our street. There are a lot of elderly people and young families. Thank you!

Hello, my child is a student at Ivy Tech Bloomington and has classes in two Ivy Tech locations that are across the street from each other on Liberty Dr. The concern is that she (and many students who don't have cars) must cross Liberty Dr at very busy times during the day to reach her next class, changing buildings. Please ensure there is School signage and a stop sign on Liberty Drive across the 2 Ivy Tech buildings so that the pedestrians/students can safely cross Liberty Dr when attending classes. The addresses of the 2 buildings are 1907 Liberty Dr, Bloomington, IN 47403 and 2100 Liberty Dr, Bloomington, IN 47403. Thank you.

Please put a light at the intersection of rockport and country club. The amount of east-west traffic on country club is far superior to the north-south traffic on rockport and traffic is backed up 30-50 cars every morning and every evening.

A student reported to IU Police Dept. on Friday, 9/25, that the crosswalk on 10th Street in front of Psychology was not very visible. Although it has signs up, they felt the lines on the pavement were not very visible. Thanks Jill (IU Grounds Department).
