Can the City not require the Indiana Railroad to install some type of flashing light, larger warning sign or something to help prevent this from happening? There has been an increasing amount of trucks hitting this bridge, at least 6 in the past year that I'm aware of.
Motorists speed down this section of road, often 20mph OVER the posted 25mph speed limit. Safety is a concern, for my child and for other pedestrians. A speed bump would fix this issue!
Can we get a No-"J"-brake sign going west on 3rd before the S.Clairizz light? I know this is State Rd. But the noise is a city/quality-of-life issue. Tx!
People absolutely FLY down our road (west 8th). Multiple family pets have been hit and kids are always trying to play outside but have to worry about cars not paying attention. Speed bumps need to be put in.

Can someone in BPD as well as OOTM please read this article and consider how the City of Bloomington may work to make their streets actually safe and civil... Please take note of the quote about their goal. I think Bloomington needs to make the goal of public safety a top and most important priority! This is what the city of New Orleans is doing to help their police department with their staff shortages. 'They will have duties such as monitoring phone and online reports, issuing traffic citations, surveying major events like Mardi Gras and the Essence Festival and even doing some investigative work. Civilians would additionally be dispatched to calls that may not require an officer, such as collecting preliminary evidence, securing loose pets and responding to forgery, certain medical episodes and some thefts, New Orleans Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson said last Thursday. Four way stop at E. Longview and N. Glenwood West. Issue: vehicles fail to fully stop at stop signs. Hazard and safety concern for pedestrians and park users in this four-way stop location. Request: Mark stripes at each stop sign where vehicles are to fully stop. This to cause some attention to this stop sign issue where folks roll through and sometimes do not stop this causing danger for park users in the "hill area" chasing a ball and small children. Just requesting four bold stripes to delineate the stop sign marking on the street to emphasize the requirement to stop. Please reply so I know that you have received this request. The intersection of Smith road and 10th Street has heavy traffic, especially in the morning and during the rush hour. The fact that there is university elementary school nearby the intersection makes the traffic heavier at times. However, the intersection is controlled only by one way stop sign. The fact that around the intersection the road on the 10th Street curves makes the traffic coming from Smith road challenging to turn on the 10th street. I strongly recommend putting traffic lights on that intersection to avoid accidents and relax the traffic around the intersection.
Please put a traffic circle at the intersection of N Smith Rd. and E 10th St. Waits can be interminable and with the hospital now on this side of town it’s getting worse. It looks to me like there is plenty of room for a circle.
Is there a way to level Allen St from the stop sign back about 50 feet at the Bloomfield Rd intersection? The slope causes accidents and near accidents. We've had 3 cars in our yard since we've been there. We've had to fix up the chain link fence best we could. In 2 situations, our gas meter was hit, which is a serious hazard. Alternatively, could Bloomfield Rd be made inaccessible from Allen St (either a one way or block it off)? Thank you for reading this. Sincerely, Theo
I wanted to propose the addition of a pedestrian crosswalk at the intersection of N Fess Ave and E 10th St. I live in Collins, and when walking between Hillcrest and the general courtyard buildings there are no immediate crosswalks in the area. The addition of white lines, particularly on the west end of this intersection (where there is already a metal grate where the sidewalk meets the road) would be very helpful for residents of Collins and would make the area safer for pedestrians trying to cross the street.
