sidewalk floods in front house when it rains. puddle is too deep to walk through. very inconvenient.
I’m writing to request the completion of unfinished sidewalks and the addition of some crosswalks on the west side of Bloomington. The first is an unfinished stretch of sidewalk along the east side of Curry Pike from Industrial Avenue to the intersection of 2nd St./45. The sidewalk dead-ends before reaching the intersection, and there is no crosswalk at the intersection to allow pedestrians to cross safely from the north side of 2nd St./45 to the south side, or vice versa. The second is a stretch of sidewalk along the north side of 2nd St. from Liberty Drive to Industrial Avenue. This sidewalk is overgrown and near unusable and dead-ends before reaching Industrial Avenue. Moreover, the intersection at Liberty Drive and 2nd St. has a crosswalk on only the north side (going east-west) and does not allow pedestrians to cross safely from the south to north side of 2nd St., or vice versa. Lastly, the sidewalk on the west side of Curry Pike does not connect between Lamplighter Mall Ct. and Glen Oaks Drive, and connecting these stretches of sidewalk would provide better access to 3rd street and the neighborhoods along Curry Pike. It would be much appreciated if the city could complete these stretches of sidewalk and make the area more walkable for those of us who do not have other modes of transportation or who simply prefer to walk the shorter distances to reach businesses and services that are close to home. Best, Marie
Did not shovel sidewalk
Sidewalk on NE corner of Dunn/11th has a sinkhole forming in it. It is not too large now, but it is dangerous and progressive. Not clear is this is a City issue or if the adjacent property owner is responsible for sidewalk upkeep.
We received a request from a young woman living in Park Ridge East. She is concerned that there is no sidewalk on Sheffield Drive between Plymouth Road and Park Ridge Road as this is a path for children to walk to Park Ridge East Park. The bus picks up children in this area and they have no where to wait for the bus.
Could the City install a sidewalk along the west side of Dunn between Cottage Grove and 12th Street? There are also a couple sections in that stretch where there isn't even a sidewalk on the east side of the street, and a lot of people walk down that street even though it is only one-way.
West side of 500 block of S. Washington. Sidewalk cracked, broken, and heaved up by tree growth. Does the city claim sidewalk repair is the responsibility of adjacent property owner? What about the goal of walkability?
The curb cut has turned into a sink hole at the southwest corner of 9th and IN. The sidewalk on the opposite corner (north side of 9th between Indiana and Fess) is also a problem.
What the heck is up with this sidewalk repair? It's been torn up for almost a month! I would hate to be one of the residents in that area with the orange cones and equipment left in the street. With the decent weather we've had this winter, you'd think projects such as this would be completed quicker.
