I play in the adult softball league at the Twin Lakes ballfields. It has been storming with heavy rains since 7:00 this evening (Tuesday). As of 9:00pm tonight, the weather hotline still says "all games at all locations are on at all locations.....check back for updates". Obviously there is going to be no game tonight for anybody. C'mon guys, please at least update your voicemail for those of us that check that message and hurry to Twin Lakes only to find that it's flooded and nobody is there. This is the second time this has happened to my team this summer season....bad weather with no voicemail update. This is becoming a real problem, please do better.
A couple of trees fell in the woods that border my property in between 3897 S Claybridge anda the assisted living facility. The house is rented and I don’t know the owners. One of the trees is blocking the sidewalk. Yesterday, I witnessed a mom with a little kid on a trike going into the street to try to get around it with a vehicle having to swerve to not hit them. I am concerned because there are a lot of folks who use the sidewalk and a high level of traffic, which increases the odds of an accident.
Please inspect the tree behind the New Hope dumpster that is on Park District strip of land. The tree is severally leaning and resting against another. It might be compromised due to last weeks storm. It might have been responsible for a smashed car windshield. If not there is some dead branches that are a risk to the New Hope staff and client parking on the North side of the property.

The large sweet gum tree in the right of way in front of our home has a very hefty branch that is growing directly toward our house and is very close to the front of the house and hangs down into my front garden. During large winds, the branch sways widely and is a danger to the sidewalk and our home. Can you trim the branch? Thank you!
There are two very large and deep muddy puddles in the large dog park area at Switchyard. One is located by the large tree in the center of the park, and the other is located by the sitting area under the green awning. My dog recently got into the muddy water, ate and drank it, and became severely sick for several days. After speaking with several dog owners at the park, this has happened with their dogs too, so it is definitely a health hazard. It is very difficult to keep the dogs away from these areas. This does not seem to be a problem just after rainfall, but most of the time. I ask that they be filled with gravel or fenced off to allow for regrowth and to keep dogs away in the meantime. On the trail by Winslow Sports Park, adjacent to Highland, near Winslow Farm Rd. There's a short wooden bridge/boardwalk. We were biking on the trail as an alternative to riding on Highland Ave and my son crashed at the bridge. He's fine, but it wasn't fun and it could've been worse. The wood was wet and friction strips are missing/ineffective in areas. There's also a large bump from asphalt to wood, so his tires were bouncing anyway. On top of that, the bridge is located in a turn - you can't even go over it straight, you have to be turning. Turning a bike on wet wood is destined for failure. Please replace this bridge. Preferably a permanent solution, like a culvert covered by concrete, which will permanently resolve the friction and bump issue. Wood will just become an issue again. Thank you.
