Received a call from resident's son at 1118 S. Rogers Street that tree shrub on property of 1117 S. Rogers has overgrown and obstructed the side walk. Resident's son indicated that mother is elderly and has had to deal with the issue for the last 5 years.
There are low hanging branches just south of 3rd street on Rogers Street.
Re case # 164723 (Supposedly resoled) Grass has been cut. Absolutely correct. But how about the E First sidewalk towards Rose? I do not see any improvement there. Low-hanging branches hitting me in the face and arms. Also, another problem has arisen: corner of Eastside and E First: long vegetation is starting to impair the view to the left where cars may be coming out of nothing from E First. The sidewalk has become overgrown. This makes it difficult for pedestrians and cyclists to pass. This is particularly dangerous in this spot due to its proximity to a blind corner.
About once a year, the alley ways need trimmed back of the bushes that overgrow into them. The area of concern are the alley going north/south just east of the Atwater Ave Subway restaurant between Atwater and Hunter, and the one going east west from Woodlawn to Faculty Dr. I drive these alleys daily and have noticed the branches have gotten to the point of needing trimmed. Once again I tried to make the map show 2238 S Sweetbriar Circle, but to not avail. Behind my home there is a city right-away with trees. Many of them are those "tree of Heaven" trees from China. Several of their limbs are nearly to my newly installed roof and others, along with other vegetation are encroaching on my lawn. Mowing is becoming difficult, sunshine doesn't get through so I am seeing lots of moss and mold. Some of those trees need trimming and the brush needs to be cut back so I get some sunshine back there. Also since the city has redone a drain up on Henderson Street, I am getting lots of rocks, dirt, etc. with every rainfall that is filling up the area in the back. I moved here in 1998 and It has never been this bad until the drain was redone. Thanks for listening to my complaints. Hope these things can be fixed. The "tree of Heaven" trees are very nasty. They are terrible and multiply very quickly and grow extremely fast. Can anything be done to eradicate them? They root out any native Indiana trees. They need to be gone!
Lack of full attendance of the members of the Board of Zoning Appeals over at least the last three months is seriously hampering the capacity of the City to handle land use matters in an efficient and timely manner. The Board of Zoning Appeals has cancelled its regular meeting for July 25, 2024 for a lack of quorum. While the BZA did technically have a quorum in May and June, there were fewer than all 5 members present for the entirety of either of these meetings. City council and the mayor need to appoint BZA members who are taking this responsibility seriously without repeated absences.

I tried and tried to get the "location" to 2238 S Sweetbriar circle, but it kept saying 2227, not 2238. Anyway, the locust trees in the tree plot in front of my house have limbs growing toward the ground. I have to practically get on my knees when mowing to get under one of them. Many of the trees in this addition have limbs very low to the ground, sidewalks, streets, or peoples' yards and need some trimming.
