Hi: I am just wondering who is responsible for street/landscape maintenance along certain streets in the city and county that I travel often. Along Smith Rd., just north of Hillside, there was a lot of brush that has been cut down but nothing else and an ugly partial fence is still standing. The new roundabout at Sare Rd. and Rogers….who is responsible for maintaining the landscaping that was installed. It is a bunch of weeds right now. Along south Highland, just north of Rogers, there is a curve that is alway full of potholes and the street and sidewalk are a mess. On Sare Rd., at the entrance to Hyde Park, who is responsible for a mess of grass clippings that is always left after the grass is allowed to grow very, very long. It is still there. The north sidewalk between Indiana & N Dunn tends to get extremely muddy and hazardous when it rains or snows, and remains that way for a long time. Maybe the location of 518 is the spot, but I don't know the house numbers; the problem spot is about the 2nd house from Indiana. I have been experiencing this for many years, so this has gone unattended. Another location in which snow removal is never done: the south sidewalk on 6th St., off of Dunn, in front of the 3 houses where students live.

We have a sidewalk in front of our home that is a major tripping hazard. Tree roots have lifted the sidewalk almost 3 inches making a serious tripping hazard. I contacted the city about 18 months ago to request to be put on the 'fix list' with us paying for the concrete, but nothing has been done. Please can this be addressed soon. Thank you.

Two yellow traffic signs on Covenanter between Nota and Pickwick, across from 2215 are half 'eaten' by a huge hedge. Maybe the hedge can be trimmed. Before long the hedge will also 'eat' half the sidewalk.

I live on a narrow road that is circular. One way in; one way out. There are 10 homes on our road and 2 of the homes have small children. I like to be able to take my dogs for a walk on our road as well. Because of our wooded area, the heavy brush and the turns in the road, it is VERY difficult for a driver to see very far ahead of them or supposedly to drive more than 15 miles an hour safely. Many visitors and delivery/service people don't seem to be able to be cautious despite the conditions. At my own expense would like to post a sign that is 24" X 18" on or near a large tree that faces the entrance to my neighborhood. It doesn't appear that any one person owns the property that the tree is on. I wonder if I can legally do this or do I have to get permission from the street department? There is not a sidewalk and as I said, there road is barely passable for 2 vehicles. My dogs and I have had to run to find a safe place to be before cars come flying towards us or from behind. I noticed that is a considerable growth of poison ivy along the sidewalk on the north side of 10th Street in the 700 Block. It is growing out from between the limestone blocks in that stretch of the walk. Someone may brush against it. Thanks for your attention to this. JCS
