Hi there! My name is Melanie Nelson, I work in environmental services for Daly City. Our department is putting together a workshop on water conservation in the home as part of our "Going Green" series. We see it as a great way to protect the environment while also educating the community and saving them money, it's a win-win-win situation! Your page, http://bloomington.in.gov/waterwise , has been awesome as a guide for the event planning committee, and we can't thank you enough for posting it! The reason I'm emailing you is because a local middle school class has been helping us with the endeavor as a volunteer project and they (very proudly, I might add) found a great article here: http://www.improvenet.com/a/water-conservation-at-home . The article is a basic overview for children on water conservation in the home and its benefits, with links to several great sources for both children and adults. I think the kids would be absolutely stoked if you were to post a link to the article on your page, they love to help out wherever they can, and seeing the link on your page would show them that they've made a difference and their actions have had an impact (however small). (Not really "street repair" but I couldn't find the right category): The eastbound Stop sign on Maxwell @ Highland, in Elm Heights, is OFTEN ignored. I have seen cars race right through it without even the pretense of slowing down. On foot, I have jumped out behind the car as it sped on, waving my hands and shouting "STOP SIGN!!", and once a driver waved an acknowledgment. Another time, driving north on Highland, I turned and followed the offender, honking and blinking my lights hoping s/he would notice that someone had noticed and be alert next time. The Stop sign is quite visible, not obscured by overhanging trees, so I am stumped. But I wonder if it could be moved closer to the road, enlarged, painted (the post too) a more neon/catchy red, and/or moved to the CENTER of the intersection (tricky for the snowplows, I know), and/or a "Stop-sign alert" sign added well before, or maybe it could be removed altogether with appropriate alerts posted for the north/south drivers, which might be safer than assuming people will stop. This is a potentially lethal situation for drivers, bikers, and walkers in a very pedestrian-heavy neighborhood. Thanks.

The leasing office and pool building of Woodbridge Apartments has restrooms you can get trapped in. There are two restrooms, one mens and one womens, that connect to the exterior (on the pool side) and the interior (on the leasing office side). During normal business hours you can easily enter and exit the restrooms without a key from the interior, leasing office, side. You can also enter the restroom without a key from the pool side, but in order to return to the pool you must use a key that tenants have been given. This creates an environment you can get trapped in. Once the office is closed, it is impossible to leave the restroom through the door that is normally unlocked during the day. If you accidentally enter from the pool side without having a key, once the door closes you'll be trapped until someone finds you. Surely this is unsafe and not up to code. I'm reporting this anonymously as I am a tenant and do not want to cause trouble with the landlord. Thanks for your time.

This morning, one of the sanitation trucks ran into our mailbox and broke the wooden mailbox post and bent the heavy duty steel mailbox in front so that it can no longer be opened. USPS will not deliver mail to an address that does not have a working mailbox. We would greatly appreciate if you would please rectify this situation ASAP. Thank you.

I work at Wininger Construction at 1605 S Walnut. Neighbor two houses south has lots of trash in back, including stolen shopping carts. Also, due to the amount of foot traffic into that home, I suspect potential drug activity. You may use the Wininger parking lot in back, to view the trash at that house. (Enter our parking lot from Southern Drive. Our office driveway on Walnut is very steep). We reported this house a year or so ago, and I think these are different tenants, but the trash is piling up again. Not a good first impression on folks patronizing our business, and appears to be a health hazard for the neighborhood. Thank you for your consideration.
