Something is wrong with the office of the mayor's phone line. It makes loud dial up noises in your ear when you call it. I've used multiple phones across multiple weeks, and I can't get a hold of them. It is very frustrating. I know this probably isn't the right place to report it, but please pass it along to someone who can help. Thanks!
This is a recurring problem. In the fall every time it rains, all the leaves come down to the lowest part Park ridge East that's in front of my house. The past 2 years they just come and clear out the actual grate and leave a pile of leaves around it. Which means next time it rains in about 5 minutes the grate will be clogged again. Also they pile the leaves up in my yard and kill my grass. These are not my leaves. They're from the street. Last winter we went around this and you guys ended up having to come with a dump truck after you put them all in the street and then the snow plows put them back in the grates and then they had to be pulled away from the drains and then they got plowed back into the grates and we had a ice shield here where it floods every time it rains more half inch. And I ended up coming with a dump truck and six people and carrying off all the leaves. The Men who cleared it this morning said this isn't the way they would do it if they had their choice. I've called the mayor's office and nobody has called me back. I gave you the day to do that. So now I'm reporting it on Ureport.
The light post on the gravel behind house 408 (where a lot of cars park) is out.
I was traveling east on 10th St. and got into the right-hand turn lane (with turn signal on) to turn right/south on Smith Road. As I turned right, a car facing north on Smith Road turned left to head west on 10th St. and did not see an oncoming car and the eastbound car on 10th street had to brake quickly to avoid an accident...stopping within a few feet of the turning car. With the new traffic light at the Post Office intersection on 10th st, GPS is routing more people east/west on 10th street to/from Smith Rd and more locals are also using this route. This is turning an already dangerous intersection more dangerous. Turning left off smith onto 10th street requires timing to avoid a car coming east around the curve on east 10th street...and the same for turning left onto Smith off 10th street. Please consider a stop light at this intersection. Thank You.
The property at 411 E Glendora looks abandoned and in bad repair. It was on Zillow as rental property. There is an old car on site and it has windows broken out. There is also a discarded chair at curb. Can you please direct me to proper office to report the property. I drive by it everyday and it’s getting worse and definitely an eye sore. Thank you
I have repeatedly requested for this gate and the others on the rail trail to be locked. It looks like someone has damaged the post on one of the gates. I would feel safer if it was not possible for cars or other motorized vehicles to easily access the trail from the nearby roads..
The pavement which used to be a through street years ago and is now a city-maintained alley needs to have its potholes filled. The parking lot behind Dr. Linda Figen's office at 413 Howe is owned by Dr. Figen and that lot is adjacent to the southern extent of the alley. It is the alley portion which is city-maintained which needs the attention. Area residents have confirmed with the city that this alley is city maintained when repairs are needed. Several potholes are deep and pose a hazard to vehicles using the alley to access Dr. Figen's business or the parking area for her neighbor to the east.
Malcolm Abrams and I own the bungalow housing the Bloom Magazine office at 414 W 6th Street. The alley to our west (when facing the building) sees a surprising amount of traffic, both vehicular and pedestrian due in part to the location of the County probation department's testing office just north of us along the alley. The alley surface is in poor condition with ruts and uneven patches. The utilities department is in the process of repairing and resurfacing a portion of our lot and alley due to water line damage from AEG fiber installation. I've been told that the city will pave some well-used alleys when in disrepair. I'm wondering whether this alley would qualify particularly given that the paving equipment will be onsite already. Neighborhood residents near the White Oak Cemetery and the Westside Cemetery have been experiencing toxic smoke from the hazardous fires taking place in the encampments between Butler Park and N Adams St. The residents believe that the individuals in this encampment are either burning plastic trash, plastic coating of stripped wire, or potentially cooking meth. Residents have reported this issue previously through a uReport, but the fire hazards were not addressed. To get to the encampment you can enter from the B-line along N. Adams St., next go right at the end of the mesh wire fence (near B-line light post #183), then cross the railroad tracks (heading south), and you will find the well worn trail to the encampment.
