RE Downtown Parking Web page, under Metering Hours it says 4th St. Garage is free on Saturday IN DECEMBER. Scroll down to "Downtown Garages" and it says 4th St. Garage is "free all day on weekends." Question: If the garage is free all day on weekends, why does it imply it's free only in December?
red pickup parked on lawn and partially blocking sidewalk. grant street just south of 6th.
Every day this week one or more of the alleyways leading to our property (and our designated parking spot) has been blocked by a variety of vehicles, sometimes unloading materials, but more often simply parked in the alleyway for hours at a time. There is ample space to park on the street, and designated parking spots off the street for all the properties on the block, yet numerous people have decided to use the alleyway as parking instead. Today, it's a pickup truck and livestock trailer. GMC Sierra with Indiana plates: AAG248.
I'm writing to you on behalf of my daughter, Natalie. We lost our dog, Jazz, a few months ago, but thankfully found her after a week. Natalie is working on a community project for girl scouts that involves helping others keep their pets safe. Your page, http://bloomington.in.gov/animal-shelter/lost-pets, was a great help to her. Just wanted to say thanks!! I also wanted to let you know about another page that Natalie has been using on tracking dogs with GPS: https://www.teletracnavman.com/gps-fleet-tracking-education/tracking-your-dog-with-gps . Can you add this to your page? She said it has been very useful and thought it would help someone else avoid losing a pet. :-) If you have any advice for Natalie, I'll make sure to pass it on to her. Thanks again, and have a great rest of the summer! Best, Alyssa (and Natalie) Riggs
The left turn arrow does not activate for vehicles on north-bound Madison Street turning west onto 17th. I have experienced this issue for many months, and have witnessed others not activating the left turn arrow. Also, it appears that the light, itself, is twisted to slightly face south east, rather than due south. It might be a good idea to repaint the stop indicator lines, as well.
The West side multi-use path on Rogers Street between Patterson and Rockport, and most notably the section between the Hillside intersection and Cherokee Drive needs cleaned/serviced. It is covered in road debris and gravel/glass and is beginning to be unsafe for biking. I busted a tube and tire on my commute from Cherokee Drive yesterday morning riding over debris. Thanks for your help!
After all the utilities repair that's been going on in our neighborhood, our streets were completely ripped up. The city has since started patching the roads, but they've done a pretty slapdash job of it. The new paving is very uneven and there are gaps and places where it's easy to lose your footing. I've already tripped at least once in the last few days when I've been out walking my dog. I'm a young, able-bodied person so I'm sure you can see how it could pose a risk to the other residents in the neighborhood who might be older or less steady on their feet. I hope this patching effort is a temporary fix and not the final product, because that would be unacceptable. I would love to hear back about this issue and whether or not this is a temporary fix. I hope the roads in our neighborhood can be completely repaved when this water utilities project is fully completed.
If possible, could we please contact South Bloomington HS about their loudspeakers? I realize that nearby neighborhoods are subject to some noise, but I can hear every word of the announcer. This has been an issue for years, but a friend of mine complained just texted me about it, having recently moved into the Spicewood neighborhood. I find it extreme that a house 2.2 miles away can still hear the game. Please, I highly support public education, but I hate hearing every detail of the football game while trying to enjoy my Friday night (or for that matter, Saturday afternoon while trying to work).
