Spring has started and the outdoor smoke coming from the Barbecue is in full force at the Short Stop food-mart on North Smith Road. My wife and I had three meetings with the City Council about this issue in 2015. And 2 recorded meetings with the council as a whole and a second meeting a few weeks later. The smoke issue was to be addressed for this location. But Chris Smith sold the store without implementing the standards the City Council had requested he perform. He was supposed to install and indoor smoker by December of (2015) that never happened. And he then sold the business in spring of 2016. As an example of how bad this smoke is. I hung wet laundry outside yesterday (Wednesday 4-25-18). Hoping for that nice fresh air smell when it was dry. Our clothing smelled like we had been next to a campfire. So I had to rewash all of the clothing. This has become a HUMAN HEALTH hazard and it has not been taken seriously. The city did nothing after our meetings to address SMOKE issues from cooking outdoors. I really hate to call the Fire department each time I smell smoke. As the cost to the city will be ridiculous for putting out (3) outdoor smokers. But that is what I am going to start doing. As we cannot breath. She had a lung removed and everyone is turning a blind eye towards this fact. Let me know what the city can do. Our district representative Allison Chopra was at the meetings as she was running for office and won the election. But I was told she had slept since the meetings and did not remember the restrictions placed on the smoke issue. A grocery shopping cart filled with garbage (and various unidentified personal items) was left abandoned in the roadway between 914 N Fairview St. and 915 N Jackson St, and in the back of 620 W 13th st. Cart first noticed morning of 7.6.
Someone has set up what looks like a junk store on the east side of People's Park up against the bike shop wall.

The property at 411 E Glendora looks abandoned and in bad repair. It was on Zillow as rental property. There is an old car on site and it has windows broken out. There is also a discarded chair at curb. Can you please direct me to proper office to report the property. I drive by it everyday and it’s getting worse and definitely an eye sore. Thank you
Corner Patterson and Morton there is a storm drain that is 3 inches or more before the road surface. This may be enough to damage some cars. It is close to New Hope side of the street.
Thanks for the reply. I am taking about the situation now. When the time I back up from my driveway to the Heritage, I looked right, left, till no car in sight. I slowly back to the street, immediately a loud squeaky brake behind me. A red car from 3rd street almost hits my car. Of course those cars can park wherever they allowed after the construction done on Smith Rd. But now it’s so dangerous! You should not wait till something terribly happened before taking actions.
7/3/24 our recycling was not picked up despite our bin being curbside since 7p the night before. It appears our recycling bin was skipped and the remainder of the neighborhood was collected.
