I am writing to urge you to extend the amount of time between the issuance of a parking ticket and the date on which the price of that ticket doubles. I realize I am lucky to have a secure job associated with a decent wage that allows me to occasionally absorb the cost of a parking ticket, for those rare times when I accidentally exceed my expected amount of time downtown. However, it was not so long ago, when I was a graduate student, that I truly lived paycheck-to-paycheck, and had a lot of difficulty making it through the second half of the month. A $20 parking ticket which doubles in price within 10 days would have been a very difficult expense to manage. And it should be recognized that even those of us who diligently pay our meters occasionally run into difficulties that cause us to run over. At the same time, we often overpay for the meter ($$ for which we are never reimbursed). In any event, a parking ticket that doubles in price within 10 days puts an undue burden on those residents of Bloomington who are in a challenging financial situation. There may be no illegalities within the mayors administration, but there are breeches of the peace through his office. The city does not derive a debt to the State of Indiana, it does operate under the same jurisdiction, and that means authority. Mark Kruzan is being given a vote of no confidence because of the Separation of Church and State. He has become a rebel, and some of his actions have been worthy of accrediting, but in light of other circumstances in the city , such conducts will have negated such accreditation. He is a disgrace for not challenging Federal authority away from being an independent on the ballot, and does not deserve to remain the Mayor of Bloomington city government.

yjere are no streetlights at all in the f section of south Hampton addition across from childs. It's very dark when the kids walk to school and unsafe at night. Kensington place has no lights at all.

Parking Ticket-- Hi, I want to give Sgt. Albert in the Police Department a HUGE COMPLIMENT! My mother Brigitte Jensen in Bloomington (I live in Idaho) is 80 years old. She has been very ill and even though she has a handicapped sticker, she was given a ticket in a Private Parking Lot for parking in a lined area in front of a dollar store. She called me and was a bit shaken. I am here in Idaho and I called Sgt. Albert. He was so understanding and KIND. I actually got an update on Bloomington/Normal. caller informs a Hobo village has left lots of trash, across the street from Cascades Village Apts. On Old 37 north...east side of the road. Caller thought since its winter it would be easier to access, he mentioned there was enough trash for two garbage trucks.

Highland Street, just below East First Street, huge ice slick in the western half of the road. We tried spreading salt on it just now and maybe that will help a little but thought you should know.
