This report is for the person that created #192463, in case they are checking on status. What you have reported has been reported before and obviously nothing has been done. The same thing has happened to others and me. I don't know what would constitute negligence on the city's part but... they have dropped the ball on this one. My $.02 is fixing the deep dip and drastically uneven surface at the intersection (that's what took me out) would be the least, installing a reflective post at the corners would be even better, or better yet a railing. Thank you for reporting your friend's experience and I hope they are not gravely injured and are doing okay. With any luck this will be addressed.

At about 8:30pm on 9/25/2024 a Marshall Security guy in a golf cart was blinding me and a friend with very bright LED lights as we were walking in Switchyard Park. This is unprofessional and unacceptable behavior the City must address with a contractor hired to keep the community safe. We were on a walking path that runs from the north side of the Skatepark to the B-Link crossing at Walnut. We were east of the skatepark and over the bridge before getting to the fence at Stryker Towing. This guy on the golf cart had his cart pointed from east to west in the middle of the path, right at us. The headlights are incredibly and painfully bright to look at in the night, causing us to shield our eyes to try to continue walking. He did not turn the lights off or try to angle away from us. He just sat there, pointing these very bright, LED lights right at us. The lights seem to be angled up and likely not the factory installed lights on the golf cart, something after market, intended to intentionally and knowingly render people unable to see as they approach.

At East Thornton Drive and Covey Lane, there are several big old trees whose branches overhang Covey Lane, and the big branches are rotten and some have already fallen, but the limbs that hang over Covey Lane are dangerous to pedestrians walking their dogs and cars using Covey Lane. Can you please look into this and have the limbs and/or tree cut so that no one will get hurt or property damaged by falling limbs. Every time a hard rain comes or storm with light wind come, large limbs fall onto Covey Lane. Thank you.

City removed Bradford Pear Tree from tree plot years ago, but left stump, which becomes overgrown and grows over sidewalk each summer. Please remove.

Other: There is offensive hate speech graffiti on the bypass B-Line trail (the trail across from the main B-Line trail light post 9 or so). There are multiple places where swastikas, swear words, and mentions of "white power" are spray painted on the paved trail. Please remove/cover this immediately.

Large 30 foot branch dangeling from a tree into the road. Safety hazard. Actually severel branches damaged from the wind storm need to be removed please. Thank you.

Wanted to see if the parks and rec department could come take a look at the Beech tree on the north side of Maxwell (marker used above). Several really large dead branches that are dangerously falling in a piecemeal way. The overall health of the tree is in steady decline, and it may be easier for the city to remove it now before it is completely rotten. Thanks!

Hello, we have a Pin Oak tree to the west of our home that was affected by the storm. We wanted to check to see if this tree is on city property. While looking at the GIS it looks like our property line starts at our basketball hoop and the tree is to the west of that line. There are branches that are loose and it looks like there has been a lot of woodpecker activity in the past that is creating damage. Could someone please come out and inspect the tree and let us know what you think? We would love to keep the tree if possible, but safety-wise we would like to have it checked/trimmed up. Please inspect the tree behind the New Hope dumpster that is on Park District strip of land. The tree is severally leaning and resting against another. It might be compromised due to last weeks storm. It might have been responsible for a smashed car windshield. If not there is some dead branches that are a risk to the New Hope staff and client parking on the North side of the property.
