Follow-up on case #205921 Response: Caden Swanson commented on this case. CBU Eng investigated this on 9/26/2025 and found this to be from the storm system originating from the sloped area near the pool.  No action needed. Question: In the photo with thise new case # (the left half of the photo i sent with the original case) there is a access ("manhole") cover much closer to the central path. Is that a cover opening to a storm drain that somehow connects ground water with the white PCP pipe draining in to the Creek? Thanks in advance. Caden Swanson commented on this case. See case #201657. Two older men sit in the park nearly every day at around 11am smoking cigars right where people want to walk or sit. One of the men is extremely loud and yells vulgarities at people who ask him to stop smoking. Can someone in a position of authority please talk with them and ask them to not smoke anywhere in the park? They usually do it close to the bagel shop, where customers can smell them, but sometimes they sit closer to the bike shop, where everyone walks by on the sidewalk along Kirkwood. Please get them to stop.

Congrats on the Bryan Park Arboretum designation. A suggestion: a guide to all the trees, accessible by QR code to Park visitors. (Assuming you don't plan on physical IDs like the ones in IU's Arboretum). Perhaps include the trees along Sheridan Creek between Woodlawn and Highland(?). Would be a great educational resource. Some years you had a tree identification activity (submit IDs, get a certificate), intended for kids, but I enjoyed doing it.

There are parking spots for people with disabilities in the north Bryan Park parking lot at the end of Stull Avenue, but there is no accessible way for them to get from the parking lot to the park path or the north shelter. I have lived right next to this parking lot for more than 30 years, but it didn't occur to me until today, when I was walking across the wet grass, that there is no path for people with mobility issues. It seems to me this should be rectified -- I never see anyone using those accessible spaces. Perhaps that's why. Thanks!

At the Winslow Woods Nature Trail, up on the hill as you're heading to the streets behind the trail (E. Azelea Ln and S. Bent Tree Dr.), there is a yellow jacket nest buried to one side in a thicket. I have noticed them the past couple days I've been out there getting more aggressive and expanding their territory. I was also stung by one before I knew they were there. They seem to be increasing in number, so wanted to let you know to warn anyone who might be allergic, or if children/pets are out there. Thanks!

Street Trees

707 S Washington ST

Case Date:
8/21/2025

Hi, We have a dangerous situation with the two city trees in front of my rental property at 707 S. Washington St. These tress continuously drop very large limbs on cars (damaging them) and on people walking along the sidewalk. Someone is going to get injured! These trees are constantly losing limbs. Can we please get you guys to trim them way back somehow? This particular tree was a bad choice to plant on a heavily traveled street/sidewalk along Washington St. Thank you in advance for your speedy response to this situation.
