Mary Norman 411 West Howe Street Bloomington, IN 47403 To Whom: I am writing to ask if a streetlamp be installed between my property and the property next door. These properties are: 411 (mine) 413 (AirBB)… as this is the only way to our back doors and parking lot. There is a utility pole already set in the ground and wires attached. The south side of Howe Steet is where I live – there are 4 of us that have property here. • Odd Fellows (corner of Madison and Howe) they occupy that house once a month for a meeting. • My property – 411 West Howe – I am a fulltime resident and owner occupied. • 413 West Howe is an AirBB and is only occupied now and then. • Rehab house on the corner of Rogers and Howe – 4 units occupied off and on with only men It is very very dark on this street along with tree foliage that blocks out any light, On the corner of Madison and Howe is a streetlamp but it is dim and doesn’t cast a lot of light. As a single woman in elder years, I try to walk as much as I can but restricted at night due to the darkness surrounding this street. I installed a motion light on the roof of my house, but it only shines with movement. I am willing to pay or partial payment of installing a streetlamp between 411 and 413 west Howe street. There is a short street that separates these two houses and the only way to get to our parking lot and back door. Homeless people walk thru our backyard traveling to and from Shalom Center and the park up a block on Howe Street. Yesterday I saw a homeless person “peeing” between my neighbor’s trash and recycle bins. There is no respect for personal property in our back area. We butt up to the apartment building on Second Street. Countless times police are there with lights flashing. It really is NOT safe around here without proper lighting. Please set up a time for someone to visit this area during evening hours. It will surprise you that you cannot identify who is walking down Howe Street… AGAIN, I would be willing to fund the lamp as would the owners of the AirBB. We have discussed the security issue and pathway our back yard becomes. Thank you for taking the time to read my concern and solution. Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. The traffic light to enter left onto Bloomfield Road (2nd street) is unresponsive at night. Cycles for traffic on 2nd street but not for those turning left onto 2nd st from the i69 exit

Left turn doesn’t get a light it went through 15 cycles and still never turned. Get your shit together you pieces of shit! :)

The light for the left turn lane coming up off of I 69 onto 2nd Street from northbound 69 is not engaging. I sat at the light for 10 minutes as well as several other vehicles to the point where we were going on red lights when the traffic was clear enough for us to go.

Mailbox obstruction by city snow removal service. We have not had mail service since the roads were plowed on Jan 26th.

The owner of the property that faces onto the west side of Madison St just north of the train bridge (property address 400 W 13th St) has not cleared their sidewalks. In fact, they've never cleared their sidewalks in years and years. The property owner is the city. This property and the bridge are the two standouts that prevent a contiguous sidewalk from 17th to 11th along the Madison-Rogers corridor. Please fine the landowner for this chronic non-compliance, and also get a work crew out there pronto. Thanks!

Are you guys ever going to plow the roads? Or did you sell all of our plows and pocket the money? It’s been 24 hours since the snow started and you had a week to prepare for this. Complete and total failure. Whoever manages the plows has no business being in that position. This is pathetic and embarrassing. You should be ashamed of yourselves. What do I pay taxes for?

There is significant dark spot on my property that would benefit from an additional street light. The light would be for safety reasons and crime prevention.
