Traffic Related Complaints

Case Date:
5/17/2012

I just passed Highway 46 and Walnut. As Walnut comes into town (near McDonalds on the North side) the street lanes are being painted. The painting on Walnut is crazy as there is a giant unused space that will not be used by motorist. They will instead do as they are today and use this area to expedite there dirve to the turn lanes. Someone needs to check this out ASAP.

City Performance

Case Date:
5/18/2012

Nothing urgent, but I walk past the lawn at City Hall each day and see ways that it could be "greener". - The crews mow at a very low height. If grass is mowed higher the blades shade the soil, keeping the roots cooler and more healthy. It also keeps sunlight from hitting the soil, which prevents weed seeds from germinating, which reduces the need for pesticides. - The crews remove the clippings. Using a mulching mower returns the clippings to the lawn system, reducing the need for fertilizer. It's also less work to not have to empty the mower bag. - The grass was mowed yesterday. Today (Friday 5/18) much of the lawn has a silvery color to it. If you look at the grass blades in these areas you'll see that the tips are shredded instead of being cleanly cut. This means that the mower blade is so dull that it's ripping rather than cutting. The shredded grass blades are more susceptible to disease than cleanly cut ones. Just my 2 cents, thanks for listening, Rich Pierce

I am trying to subscribe to all calendars (http://www.nationalnursesunited.org/) from Google Calendar, and I get a parsing error. Could you check the feed out and verify that it is in correct format? It could be that Google just cannot deal with some feature of the feed.

Parking Meters and Citations

I have been contacted about 2 outstanding parking tickets. I have spoken with the collection agency to inform them that those tickets were paid and I gave them the confirmation number that the tickets were never delinquent. The person I spoke with didn't update their system with the confirmation numbers in order to follow up with you (on March 21, 2012) and they called me again today. I would like to email you the receipt that I received from your website when I paid. Below is a copy of the receipt: From: CITY OF BLOOMINGTON <gateway@linkpt.net> Date: Fri, Feb 5, 2010 at 10:40 AM Subject: Receipt from CITY OF BLOOMINGTON To: Rafael Ishman <ishmanr@indiana.edu> Company: CITY OF BLOOMINGTON Reference Number: 10.174.5.172-1269ECA190F-4DDE4099-60171B1A Subtotal: $80.00 Tax: $0.00 Shipping: $0.00 Total: $80.00 CITY OF BLOOMINGTON

A young police officer stopped my husband and I last night in front of Convention Center on S. College to tell us our license plate was expired. He could not have been more polite. Apparently, there is a mistake on our license plate sticker which we were unaware of and our registration showed the correct date of June. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name. Thank you to the officer!!
