Is it possible for someone to check out this property for animal abuse? I just walked by today (via the alley) and they seem to have a lot of growlings dogs in cages that were covered with blankets.

Line of Sight

305 S Euclid AVE

Case Date:
8/7/2024

There is a street light that has been going off all night in front of a vacant home. I wasn't sure if you all would be able to disable it. It has been bothering individuals in the neighborhood and since there is no one living in the building we don't have another resource to contact.

Excessive Growth

1155 W 3rd ST

Case Date:
6/9/2013

By the cemetary where 3rd turns into Kirkwood both the signs saying which lane ends are not visible to drivers because of tree limbs. I understand that Bloomington wants to have trees to beautify the city but I have lived here 9 years and the overgrown trees that are never pruned or trimmed are a safety hazard!!

Biking & Walking

1155 W 3rd ST

Case Date:
2/5/2017

The new construction has contributed significant debris to the east-bound bike lane. This occurs with many of our development projects: when the apartments on N. College just north of the railway overpass were being constructed, the muddy (erosive) runoff and rocks were obliterating the bike lane. And during the recent downtown construction of ONB, the bike lane was full of rocks and crud. The debris remains on the north side of 4th, between Lincoln and Grant, at the alleyway cut.

Street Trees

1017 W Howe ST

Case Date:
7/22/2024

The tree in the front of my home is jeopardizing my and my neighbor's roofs. We have three large silver maples here surrounding my home. The neighbor's giant, healthy silver maple broke in multiple points during the recent storms, destroying my roof and the back half of my house. It's costing about 15k in repairs, and my insurance took half of my claim amount away in non-recoverable depreciation and the deductible, so I only have enough to fix the roof even though my ceilings, floors, walls and electrical fixtures were all damaged as well. Additionally, the flood damage caused extensive mold growth throughout the back of my house. We are trying to work together to take care of these trees so this does not happen again, especially since I have to replace the whole roof. They are working to address one of the trees by taking out a loan, but the one in front of my house is on city property, and it would be good for us to get those larger overhanging branches trimmed back. Howe St becomes like a wind tunnel over on this corner when it storms and the trees are dangerous at that height. Additionally, there is a tree on the back side of my property in the alleyway between my house and the Optima Dermatology Center. The tree is overgrown and pulling down on the power lines that are connecting the pole to my house and my other neighbor's house. I will contact Duke about this, but they said on their website that they will only address the portion that is affecting the main power lines, not the lower power lines. In this particular case, the tree is affecting both the lower and upper lines, so I'm not sure whose jurisdiction that would be. It would only let me include one image, but I have three that I can send you to get a better look.
