This week we discovered years of text messages related to prostitution on a relative's mobile phone. He is elderly and transitioning to a care home, the texts were found while getting things in order. Many were very recent (within days). The texts were related specifically to the owners of Indiana-based Asian massage parlors. The bother or close relative of the owner of a massage parlor busted in Columbus, IN owns a similar place, Lemongrass Foot Spa, 104 S Pete Ellis Dr, Bloomington, IN 47408: https://fox59.com/news/columbus-police-shut-down-massage-parlor-after-serving-warrant-for-alleged-prostitution/ Like the Columbus location, the establishment changed its name after operating under the same name as the Columbus location. Prior reviews online make clear that the business was a front for prostitution as the reviewers described the services in terms that would be generally understood to be "Happy Endings." In addition to prostitution, many of the women seem to participate in activities that border on, or may actually be, elder abuse, fraud (specifically address fraud), and theft. Based on what we've seen in the text messages, we believe some may also be here illegally. Obviously, I cannot say with certainty that crimes are currently being committed - but, that's where an investigation is needed. And, this is a where-there's-smoke-there's-fire situation. I've implored the people who've discovered this to turn it over to assist in an investigation, but it is a sensitive matter for the family. I do hope that this information is taken seriously and that some inquiry can be made to ensure any illegalities are addressed.

Planet fitness- Just now, the dispenser for the water bottles has black mildew or mold all around it. It’s very gross and a lot of people use it, although it’s dirty and never kept clean. Please send people to check it out

Rockets is terrible about upkeep of the pumps. Multiple times I have visited to find the same pumps never stop upon a car or can being full. I’ve brought this issue up to management multiple times, but they’ve never fixed it and consumers end up spending money on wasted gas - also a hazard. I specifically know pump 13 has this issue.

I was walking past the Crew Carwash while cars were being pre-treated on the front of the cars with bug and tar remover. The wind was blowing the mist from the chemical used for this, straight at me. Some bug and tar pre-treatments at car washes can contain acids and refined petroleum chemicals. Although many contain citris, they usually can also cary chemicals that can cause reprirory and skin issues. I noticed that there is no protective wall that was installed to protect pedestrians and I belive that such a wall is common practice with businesses that do not wish to expose pedestrians to their car wash chemicals. Even if it were merely a strong car wash soap spray, this too can be a health risk to pedestrians who inhale this as they walk past a car wash.

With the construction going on in the Building Trades Park homeless people are starting to hang out in the church parking lot across the street. The security patrols for the park used to check out that parking lot but have stopped since the construction has started. It would be nice if they swung through occasionally while the construction is going on.

Mayo has installed a new post ( pole ) on my property at the corner of Brownridge and Fieldcrest in Hoosier acres. They did extensive digging around the area and were supposed to reseed, since I had my lawn completely reseeded this last fall. This has not been done and there is a muddy mess at the corner. Moreover holes were made at various places on the lawn and these were never filled in. This is a hazard in mowing or just walking on the lawn. If someone catches there foot in the hole it could result in a broken leg or twisted ankle. Mayo or the city would then be responsible. There are little flags all over the lawn, which needs to be mowed. Should I just remove these ?. Is the work completed ? On the pole there is a street lamp to replace the one currently at the corner, but neither is working, which is another hazard. The ditch in the area has also collapsed. Hi, There's a couple of large road cuts at the intersection of Lincoln and 6th St. If the city is not planning on filling these any time soon could we at least get the sharp edges softened? Does the city have a plan for taking in, and disposing of, our old trash bins and cans? Saying that "Residents are encouraged to reuse their old trash cans as yard waste containers" seems ingenuous. How long a yard waste season goes Bloomington have? -- 6 months? Where will I store 2 35-gal. cans and a 20-gal., plus the 3 bins currently used for recycling -- since my garage will be filled up with two 64-vallon containers?
