The bug maple city tree in front of our house on S Washington (near the corner of Dodds) has a carpenter ant infestation at the base of the trunk. If treated immediately I think the tree can still be saved. Will the city do this? If not, may I do so? We don’t want to lose this beautiful tree.
Hello - Following up to my prior report of an infestation to the city tree in front of our property at 724 S. Washington under uReport Case #202945, I received a message that Haskell Smith would come by to look at it, but the ticket was then closed so I've no way to further communicate with Haskell. I understand that Carpenter ants are opportunistic, but they can make things worse. I am still seeing lots of them around the base of the tree and the typical "saw dust" around the area to indicate some sort of boring insect infestation happening. Has anything been done to mitigate? I am hoping something can be done to save the tree before it gets out of control. I would contact an arborist, but since it is a city tree I assume it should be handled by the city.
Sewage was backing up into our house from the drain line, called out a plumber, and they were able to clear the blockage, but found a break in the line outside of our house due to the recent fiber optic cable installation. The external line needs repaired at this break as mud is still exposed and could cause another blockage in the line and we would also like a reimbursement for the cost of the plumbers that had to come out today.
Our yard was dug up this winter probably to access that pipe, but it’s been left with just dirt all over our grass and our sidewalk
We have lived on first st since 2020 and our stretch of road (between the stop sign at Woodlawn and the one on Henderson) that our young child has to cross to get to his school bus stop is the only section of first Street residentially that has a big space between stop signs and no speed bumps. Because of this what I've noticed, since the speed bumps east of Woodlawn and first were put in, is people often speed on our stretch of road. There are two other families at our bus stop and they have noticed the same thing and often worry about crossing the street to either get to the park or the bus stop as a result. I believe we also need speed bumps on our stretch of road as it feels like drivers are now compensating and trying to make up for lost time.
The fiber optics crew drilling lines damaged (crushed/cracked/dislodged) almost 40 feet of sideway from the corner of Second Street and Park Avenue. Who pays for this destruction?
Road rage incident experienced and called into BPD for Indiana license plate #TP9081 as we waited for 4 vehicles to go across this terrible disconnected jaunt. The reported vehicle went to play chicken with us and refused to move and passenger got out of vehicle all to come yell expletives at us and say they aren’t moving….. all this to say because a new section of sidewalk was poured and not repainted yellow so another vehicle was parked there and taking up that drivers lane while ours was clear. Please get this corrected and actually continue to paint lines and yellow no parking to prevent unnecessary rage incidents for just driving in this town. Absolutely asinine.
