Street Lights
366 S Washington ST

Street lights are out near E Smith Ave and S Washington St and E Second St and S Washington St. When going south down S Washington St, every street lamp on the right side of the street is out and have been out since at least the beginning of September. The entire street is pitch black at night and it creates a very unsafe environment for residents on S Washington St. In my initial report on 10/17/24, I thought that these street lamps were city street lights, but they could also be private street lights. Please look into this matter.

The townhouses/apartment complex that is located at 342, 348, 354, 360, 366, 372, 378, 384, 390, 396 S Washington St has five street lamps that are out. Of the five, three are missing significant sections of the post itself, one even with exposed wires. These lamps have been damaged or out since at least January 2025. This part of S Washington St is pitch black at night and it is the largest portion of the street like this. I have tried to address this issue several times, with no avail. Please contact this residency about the street lamps, as this has been an ongoing and dangerous issue.

Two unknown individuals in a white rental camper van approached my running vehicle while my children were inside. They attempted to turn off the engine and physically touched the vehicle door and power button. I was inside a store briefly, and when I came out, they were interacting with my car in a suspicious manner. The behavior was threatening, unsafe, and created fear for the safety of my children.
This happened outside of Buddhist gift shop in front of gift shop here in Bloomington. These 2 individuals are a couple about 170 lbs for the male and 150 for the female. Both light skin with sunglasses on and wouldn’t take off their sunglasses when I approached them to ask what they were doing in my car when my daughter called me. I drove away immediately after I confronted them they were kind of evil laughing when I asked them why they touched my vehicle. Lady was laughing and wouldn’t turn around to speak. They were eating noodles and claimed to be concerned about my vehicle motor smell from muffler. They ranted “I can’t understand you Americans” when I asked why would they approach my vehicle with my children inside. They had a rental white camper van labeled rental on it.

Hello - in front of City Hall there is a stone that I believe is a memorial for fallen officers. The light fixture in front of the stone was tipped over when I walked by Saturday at the market. It appeared to be broken, so it may need some repair work.

I am writing this about the sidewalk area in front of the White House Flower Shop located off of E Winslow Rd. I am a mother with a toddler child and no vehicle so it is necessary for me to use the sidewalks as my child rides in a stroller. I live in Winslow Ridge Townhomes and have to walk to or from there to Henderson St to be able to catch Bloomington Transit. There has been several instances lately that traveling on the sidewalk is nearly impossible with all the snow on the sidewalk. I can appreciate that Henderson Court Apt and Winslow Ridge Townhomes have been able to keep the remaining snow to a minimum, but outside of the White House Flower Shop is always a mess. This morning as I left my home with my child I was forced to pull my stroller backwards through the snow because pushing it led nowhere. On my return home at around 5p.m., after picking up some groceries, I was not able to get through the snow which forced me to have to walk in the street with my toddler in his stroller.
