Parking on Unimproved Surface

Case Date:
11/8/2016

There is an abandoned car on the southwest side of W 6th street and Adams. It's been there all summer with a flat tire. It's a grey SUv parked about 25-30 yards from the intersection of W6th and Adams Street on the south side of the street. I called to report it about a month ago and it's still there.

Trash

Case Date:
11/8/2016

There is an all but abandoned house on our block at 1217 W 6th Street. There have been several complaints about the condition of the house and yard and it's actually worse since the City's initial intervention. Now there is trash accumulating at the front, the eave trough is falling off and the back yard is full of what looks like abandoned construction material.

Traffic Signals

Case Date:
11/8/2016

The traffic lights on College Mall Rd between Moores Pike and 3rd St have changed recently. All of these lights are fully active (red, yello, green) before 6:00 AM now which is a change within the last 2 weeks or so. No-one is at the mall before 6:00 AM yet the light is fully functional. Additionally, the light at Covenanter has active left turn arrows in all directions even when no traffic is turning left. Again this is all before 6:00 AM I am on this road 4 of 5 week days and there is not nearly enough traffic to justify these lights before 6:00 AM Thanks, Jan

Other

Wanting to make you aware of an incident involving my daughter, yesterday afternoon. We live a fair distance away, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She was contacted by a company representative of the Xlibris Self Publishing Company. The phone number that called her was 317-489-3887. (http://www.xlibris.com/) I googled this number as I was immediately suspicious and found they are not operating entirely above board. Soliciting business from minors without parental authorization, discussing trips to Europe and Asia, photo shoots for book covers....tends to ring in all shades of child luring. Discussing money and payment matters with children. I have called them and requested they remove my daughters number from their records (I was informed they didn't have it, however I do not believe them). I also informed them that if she receives any additional calls from their organization, I would be contacting the police in their city. I've decided to do this anyway because a little research on the internet indicates to me this is a regular occurrence. Very concerning. I have not determined yet how my daughter's phone number was provided to them, though my assumption is that it was through purely an innocent act of a child who knew no better.....even though she's well educated on the pitfalls of the internet. Perhaps the excitement of the possibilities overruled her common sense. Regardless, I felt it necessary to report it to someone in the area. Not much I can do from 12 hours away. Thank you for your time.

Street Lights

Case Date:
11/11/2016

Light on utility pole at dead-end of S.College Avenue is out. This location is at the entry to the B-Line trail. There have been several car break-ins on this street specifically at 1605 S. College Ave.), and it appears the thief is using the dark entry to the trail as a quick escape.

Trails

Case Date:
11/11/2016

There is a light on a utility pole at the dead-end of S. College Ave. This dead-end location is used as access to the B-Line trail. Unfortunately, there have been car break-ins along this street. I own the home at 1605 S. College Ave. and we've had 2 car break-ins at this location. It appears that the thief is using the access to the trail as a dark and quick get-away. This light needs repaired to prevent crime in this area.
