School bus drivers are complaining the light barely stays green long enough to get from Oakdale through the light to Basswood or to turn left. This is my 2nd time putting in this request as I was told this light is maintained by the state and I would need to contact INDOT. I did that and they referred me back to you. Here is the e-mail I received from them regarding this: kenmiller@indot.in.gov Dear Ms. Silvernail, Thank you for contacting the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). The intersection of W Bloomfield Road and Oakdale Drive/S Basswood Drive is outside of INDOT jurisdiction. Those roads are city streets under the jurisdiction of the City of Bloomington. I understand that you contacted them already, but I can confirm that they are city streets, which INDOT does not maintain. Here is the link to their website: https://bloomington.in.gov/departments/public-works/street and phone number: 812-349-3448. You can stay informed 24/7 by visiting 511in.org or by downloading INDOT TrafficWise in the app store. Spring forward into safety! Buckle Up, Phone Down. Smells like gas
As someone who walks a lot, I appreciate the B-Line trail and how well the city maintains it, including promptly clearing snow. So I was disappointed today when I had to tiptoe through ice on the trail near WonderLab, between 4th and Kirkwood. Thank you.
Lamppost #142 light is out on the B-Line trail. It is the first lamppost on the west side of Rogers Street near the City Hall Plaza. This is a dangerous crosswalk as cars often speed through the walk.
Is there a way to protect pedestrians/bikers on the B-Line Trail by adding retractable bollards or something on the yellow painted line by intersections so that cars don't mistake the trail for a road? Thank you in advance for working towards a solution that will help improve the safety of all.
