The water fountain (doggie fountain portion) on the Clear Creek trail that is halfway between That Rd. and Rockport Rd. (Just behind the house at the end of Dove Dr on the trail) is not functioning. It has not been functioning all year at all since it was turned on in the spring. Our pets out walking could use a little repair help please :) Thanks, Kevin

Blocked Sidewalk

Case Date:
6/16/2018

A private limestone retaining wall has fallen on to a public sidewalk on Euclid street between west 2nd street and Howe street. The sidewalk is blocked and is a safety hazard. Someone could trip over the pile of stone and possibly file a lawsuit against the city. Also, the fallen wall has been there since January. Thanks, Chris.

Trash

Case Date:
6/18/2018

I would like to file a complaint regarding whomever is picking up our trash and recycling at 422 S. Hawthorne Dr. For the past several months, the sanitation workers have become increasingly careless with throwing empty bins onto our curb, into the middle of our driveway, and even (today) in the middle of the street. While I recognize that the workers are busy, this is a health and safety hazard and we pay too much money in property taxes to receive this sort of inexcusable service. PLEASE ask sanitation workers who pick up trash and recycling on S. Hawthorne Dr. to do their jobs properly and not create more work, let alone health and safety hazards, for residents.

Website & Web Services Feedback

Case Date:

Hi, I was browsing City Of Bloomington, Indiana’s website looking for some resources about green living, and saw that you included “reduce energy use” on this page: https://bloomington.in.gov/news/2017/05/12/1078 It’s nice to see that your website has info that could be useful to people looking to reduce their impact on the environment. We at Coupon Chief would like to share a few special tips to help people adopt a more Earth-friendly lifestyle without draining their wallets. We recently published a huge guide titled “The Ultimate Guide to Cheap Green Living,” which focuses on inexpensive ways to go green. We’re hoping you could help us spread the word by sharing and linking to it. Can I send you the link to the guide? Looking forward to hearing from you, Michelle

I find it ridiculous that we can't watch a news channel on the treadmills. I have basic tv at home and look forward to seeing other information. Is there a compromise?

I've just spent 15 minutes attempting to find information about the outdoor concerts in Bloomington parks, without success. It shouldn't be this difficult.

Blocked Street

Case Date:
6/20/2018

The road closed barricade on Rockport (traveling southwest) and Rogers is too much in the road that buses and other large vehicles are having difficulty turning the corner from southbound Rogers onto Rockport when cars are at the intersection (on Rockport) waiting for the light. It is assumed that vehicles need to be up at the intersection in order to trip the light for Rockport travelers. Despite the closure, the road is heavily traveled due to the various neighborhoods and Summit Elementary (summer school?). Being a resident of the Adams Hill neighborhood, I travel through this intersection daily. If the barricade can be moved off the road more, that would be an easy fix. However I like that it makes it obvious to travelers that the road is closed, as I do not want even more traffic through our neighborhood than we already have. My suggestion is to alter the light-trip indicators. If the cars traveling northeast on Rockport can be further back to trip the light, it would allow cars to weave through the barricades in single file when it is their turn. This also means there should be a "No Turn on Red" for southbound Rogers. A solution would also need to allow for those in the neighborhood across Rogers to come through the light onto southbound Rockport. The traffic from that direction is minimal. My thought for those traveling from that direction would be to have their side trip individually and the lights would need to be green one direction at a time. If the closure was only for a month or two, it would not be much of an issue. However with the closure going until near the end of the year and school starting in August, this intersection will need addressed as the traffic (buses and parents) to and from Summit Elementary is quite measurable. Thanks for your consideration.
