There is an invasive vine, possibly grapevine, that is pushing over plants bordering a city sidewalk and at time obstructing the walk. I have cut it back several times; most recently a few weeks ago. Would the city or someone else be able to get rid of the vine and/or cut the greenery farther away from the sidewalk. The sidewalk borders a marsh and is right across from the pond on Tapp, on Adams Hill Circle.
There has been a shopping cart on my property for over a week now. I was told by a police officer to put a note on it with my trash and the City would take care of it. I did that on Sunday evening, but the cart is still on the sidewalk.
The parking area/curb near the sidewalk in the 1418/1416 S Palmer Avenue area is completely washed out, making it difficult to park.
The sidewalk on the west side of College Mall Rd just north of Moores Pike there is a tree that has branches hanging to about 4-5 feet over the ground, making it so that both pedestrians and cyclists have to duck to get below it. I believe the tree is the responsibility of Gentry Quarters, but I am unable to find contact information for the company to ask them to address it. I'm hoping the city can. Thank you.
Another mailbox was hit on Allendale Dr. in Sherwood Oaks neighborhood near the corner of Allendale and Dunstan. This is the 2nd time this mailbox has been hit by a distracted driver in the last month. I live on the corner of Allendale and Dunstan and have witnessed countless drivers fly through the stop sign. This is also a city bus stop as well as my child's school bus stop. I am now in fear of letting my children use the sidewalk to walk to the little library, the park, and friend's homes. We shouldn't have to worry about this in our neighborhood. Many kids, adults, and pets use these sidewalks every day and shouldn't feel scared or worried that they are in danger. My neighbors dog was hit and killed last year at this 4 way stop. Let's do something before another pet or person gets hurt.
The Highland St. side of 1216 E. 2nd St has trees and vines 4 feet into the roadway. With no sidewalk, pedestrian must move far out into the street. Cars cannot park. Parking sign is obscured. Street sweepers swing around the area, creating ever more debris in the gutter.
Hi--we love the work the city road crews do to plow snow and sand for safe travel. We do have one request for our cul-de-sac, though (Skylark Court, east off of Highland Avenue). We'd appreciate it if the plow drivers could return and plow the large pile of snow covering the lone storm water drain off to the side, so as to uncover the drain. Also, in the future, can they please avoid piling snow that storm water drain. It is the drain for the entire cul-de-sac. In the photo, this location is shown approximately by the red arrow. When snow is piled over this drain, as snow melts from anywhere uphill, or if it rains, the snow pile caps off the drain and the bottom of the cul-de-sac floods. The storm water drain is at the bottom of the cul-de-sac, which is all one slope, so A LOT of water runs to that one drain. One concern we have with the flooding is that several utility hook-ups (electricity, telephone, and cable) are just a foot or two away from the drain. Things have been done this way for years, and we have always taken it upon ourselves to shovel the drain clear, but this year we realized it would be a great idea to ask if the plow drivers could do this instead. Thank you!
The sidewalk at 1107 S. Fairview at the property's secondary entrance is always either flooded, slick mud, or covered with dirt and grass is now taking root across it. Until very dry periods one must walk out in the street to get around it. Likewise, the weed trees at the line between 1107 and the apartment complex to the north are overgrown to a point that the sidewalk is becoming increasingly impassible.
