The street sign next to the bus line on the corner of W. Heritage Way is almost knocked over. The street sign is leaning so far over you can't see it driving by. The sign was like this after the bad weather this winter. The sign post that needs to be straightened is W. Heritage Way (Bloomington, 47403)
My office is at 804 N. College. There is an alleyway just south of the office that runs from College to Walnut, and there is an alleyway that runs from 11th St. and dead ends on the Walnut to College alley, just behind my office and where the parking lot is. I usually use the alley off 11th to get to my office and also to leave, because it is much safer than trying to get out on College. There is a huge (and I mean really, really huge) "pothole," which I think is a big hole left by some construction crew (there are student apartments off that 11th St. alley) that really needs to be addressed. I hope you can send someone out to look at it, and get it fixed.
To: Office of the Mayor These scooters (see image) are parked in spaces where my residents need to park for several days now. I already moved them closer to the street several times. This location does not have a walkway (307 19th Street), they should not be parked in private property. I called the police, but they have suggested to open a complaint in your office. When making a right turn into Winslow Sports Complex from South Highland Avenue, there is a large fir tree right on the corner. This tree blocks any view of pedestrians or bikers on the sidewalk directly behind the tree. This is a problem mainly for turning right rather than turning left into the area. I have personally had several incidents where we are turning into the area from the road and have had to stop unexpectedly to allow pedestrians to walk by. Although there is a small "caution" sign post there, it seems inadequate and unsafe regardless. My proposal is to cut down this large fir tree in order to create a safer environment for both drivers and pedestrians at this well-frequented corner.
There is a big piece of steel rebar sticking out of the sidewalk near the eastern entrance to 2427 E 2nd Street. It's become a safety issue for cars and pedestrian as many kids walk through there to get to the elementary school. Unsure if since it's an IU office if it's IU property? We've been waiting almost 10 years for you to replace the "Claybridge Dr." street sign on the SW corner of Claybridge Dr. and Canada Dr. The street post has been empty for ages.
One of the 4 large reflector signs on the circle chicane in the middle of the intersection of 6th and Oak is missing. It has been missing for a couple months now. The post is still there but apparently someone took the sign off of it.
Bethel Lane construction. For weeks this community has continually been taken hostage by a private company attempting to “fix” water lines. This company continuously blocks traffic at unnecessary times. It seems to always when school is letting out that they decide to keep traffic stopped, even though they, and the City ya ensured the county they would not hinder this traffic and work with the schools for ease of traffic flow. I find it extremely frustrating that the City of Bloomington would care so little about about it’s residents and families. This heavy traffic and blocked traffic pattern has cause myself and many others late from picking up a child at school or getting home to get a second child attending a different school. I hope that some one from this office or one from above can look at these many projects around Bloomington and actually manage them in accordance to the community and just not profit margins and revenues.
Ever since John Hamilton got into office, street service has been terrible and today is no exception. I walked Lincoln from 10th to 6th and was slipping all over because there was no salt or sand and there was at least 2” of snow on the street. I don’t dare take my car out for fear of getting stuck, which is bad because I have meds to pick up. Please see to this ASAP. Thank you.
I had filed a claim earlier asking Bloomington to stop pushing snow on my retaining wall and that you had only plowed half of my drive. A driver came back and plowed and broke our wall. I have tried to email because the closed the claim saying resolved, but as you can see now that the snow has melted a little this situation is clearly not resolved. We paid $4000.00 for this retaining wall. I have called, emailed, my husband has come to your office and this is now my second claim. Please help!!
