This is on 6th Street between Walnut and Washington Streets on the north side of the road on the northwest corner of the alleyway. The sidewalk is raised above a 1/2" (ADA says less) making it hard for a manual wheelchair to get over it. Must go around the block or out into the street. Can it be smoothed down or asphalt added to make it beveled?

Walking down the sidewalk next to Monroe County Public Library last Saturday and had to walk through the mulch/grass to get around yet another scooter. This is an ongoing frustration of mine. As a disabled resident of the Bloomington community I feel as if I am no longer welcome in my home. Scooters are constantly left in the middle of sidewalks, on accessable ramps and entries, and the riders zoom past without regard to the physically challenged members of Bloomington. It makes me want to stay indoors hidden away for safety instead of enjoying the city and it's offerings.
This hole has been in the sidewalk for almost a year now. Located on the North sidewalk of E. 4th St. between S. Washington and S. Walnut.
The sidewalk surrounding Taco Bell on the corner of 7th and Walnut is impassable. It is a lethal hazard. Can you ask them to clear it? Walk it yourself to see. Thank you
Hello, I'm attempting to get this resolved before it becomes a hard frozen hazard as it has in year's past. This is the sidewalk next to Taco Bell at 7th & Walnut. It is also the only way I can get to One City Centre from the Walnut Street Garage. I don't understand how they get a "pass" on sidewalk cleanup, yet CFC is very prompt about clearing the walk way (see clear sidewalk on horizon of attached photo). Overgrowth blocking sidewalk at 1211 W. 11th St.
Hi--we love the work the city road crews do to plow snow and sand for safe travel. We do have one request for our cul-de-sac, though (Skylark Court, east off of Highland Avenue). We'd appreciate it if the plow drivers could return and plow the large pile of snow covering the lone storm water drain off to the side, so as to uncover the drain. Also, in the future, can they please avoid piling snow that storm water drain. It is the drain for the entire cul-de-sac. In the photo, this location is shown approximately by the red arrow. When snow is piled over this drain, as snow melts from anywhere uphill, or if it rains, the snow pile caps off the drain and the bottom of the cul-de-sac floods. The storm water drain is at the bottom of the cul-de-sac, which is all one slope, so A LOT of water runs to that one drain. One concern we have with the flooding is that several utility hook-ups (electricity, telephone, and cable) are just a foot or two away from the drain. Things have been done this way for years, and we have always taken it upon ourselves to shovel the drain clear, but this year we realized it would be a great idea to ask if the plow drivers could do this instead. The photograph of this hole was taken Sept. 27, 2019. The same hole can be found in case #161692 from Oct. 27, 2017. Danna Workman reported that the hole had been repaired, but I can assure you it was not. It is located between 1217 and 1221 N Madison (closer to 1217, and so large as to be observable from satellite photos and Google Street View). Even though I knew it was there, in the dark the other night, I nearly turned an ankle in it. The whole sidewalk along the west side of N. Madison between 16th and 17th is in a terrible state of disrepair and has been the entire time I've lived in this neighborhood. I know that landowners are supposed to maintain the sidewalks, but I also know that it's the city's duty to enforce that rule. What I don't know is why Danna Workman reported that the hole was repaired when it wasn't. In any event, the sidewalk is still a hazard. What are you going to do about it?
